Kai's POV

We walk back to the village together, still holding hands.

But suddenly, we see something horrific.... so many villagers have been frozen.
How could this happen?

Skylor squeezes my hand as we walk closer to the people trapped in the ice and we see one of the people that are frozen is Cole.

No, no, no, no.

Is there a way to get him back?

We haven't even been here for an entire day and we've already lost a ninja.

I release my hand from Skylor's and I walk up to his now frozen figure.

"Why him and not me?" I whisper.

Skylor sighs and says, "Don't put yourself to blame," She starts "you couldn't do anything to stop it and that's okay. We'll find a way to get him out of the ice." She gives me a sad smile but her words don't help me.

"You don't get it!" I snap.

"I already lost one of my brothers and in the same day, I lose another!"

She looks down at her feet and whispers, "But that doesn't mean we're not going to get them back."

I sigh.

"You're right. I'm glad one of us is thinking on the bright side." I say with a sad smile.

"Well, maybe you should start thinking on the bright side as well."
She says while elbowing which makes me force a smile and say, "I'll try."

She walks closer to me and grabs my hand, "You don't have to pretend to be okay. It's okay to feel sad." I squeezed her hand and pulled her closer.

She's so close that I can feel her warm breathe on my cheek. "Skylor, I-"

I got interrupted by hearing someone clearing their throat.

We move farther away from each other to see Sorla holding a fishing rod and icy fish.

"Come on," she says. "Let's get dinner ready."

We both nod and follow her into her tiny hut.
