Kai's POV

I wake up from the sound of my alarm.

This is the one time that I get up right away but that's only because I have to head to the
good-old noodle shop.

After I finish getting ready, I decide to head to the kitchen.

But of course, Skylor's in the kitchen.

I try to sneak past the kitchen, but to my luck, she spots me.

"What are you doing up so early?" Skylor asks.

"Its not that early. It's already..." I look at my phone to check the time. "6:30 am. That's not early. Why are you up anyway?"

"I guess I'm just used to waking up at this time for work." She replies.

"Okay...well I better get going. Bye-"

She raises an eyebrow. "Where could you possibly be going to at 6:30?"

"Uh, I always start patrolling before the other ninja. Okay...bye!"

Why am I such a terrible liar?

"Don't you want breakfast first?" She asks.

"I don't feel like making anything."

She starts to laugh. "If you didn't realize, I'm making breakfast."

My cheeks heat up from embarrassment.

"Oh. Well in that case, I'll eat breakfast. But I won't stay for too long."

We sit down at the dining table and I stare down at the spectacular looking bánh xèo that Skylor made.

I took a bite of it, and my tastebuds were in awe.

"Wow." I whisper.

A laugh escapes Skylor's lips. "I see that you like it."

"How could I not like it?"

TIME SKIP

I finished eating my breakfast.

I check the time, and it's 7 am...

HOW?????

"I really gotta go now." I tell Skylor.

She waves, and I leave.

When I'm outside, I decide text the others.

If Skylor asks if I usually start patrol earlier, say YES!!!!

AT THE NOODLE SHOP

I take out the keys and open the door.

I put on shades so then (hopefully) no one recognizes me.

"Okay," I tell myself. "What do I do now?"
