Interruptions (Again)

Skylor's POV

After I confessed my feelings, Kai began to stare at my lips.

We both began to lean in.

But suddenly, I started to hear someone shouting my name.

I ignored it.

There was not even an inch-wide gap between us, but then someone barged into the room.

Since I was startled, I moved away from Kai to see who it was.

And it was Dareth.

"There you are, Skylor!", he said. "Did you bring puffy pot stickers like I asked you to?"

I sighed.

Did he seriously have to interrupt us AGAIN??

First, at the tournament of elements, and now here???

"Yes, Dareth. I put them on your table.", I said.

"Yes! Thank you!"

And then he ran out.

"I should probably get going..." I say quietly.

"To where?"

"Home. I'm not feeling that well."

"Why? What's wrong?"

Of course he can tell that I'm lying.

"I had a lot of drinks so I feel a bit nauseous," I lied.

"Then it might not be the best idea for you to drive home alone if you're nauseous. I can drive you home if you want."

I sighed. "No, Kai. It's okay. I'll be fine. But thank you."

Why do I always make things so awkward??

TIME SKIP

It's now 1 in the morning and I'm sitting on my couch watching TV in my apartment eating donuts (in my pajamas).

I feel terrible for leaving him at the party.

I just didn't know what to say after Dareth interrupted our almost kiss (again).

Does Kai think that I regret wanting to kiss him? 

Or does he think-

My thoughts got distracted when I heard a knock on my front door.

It's definitely Kai.

Who else would come by at 1 in the morning??

I don't want him to see me in my pajamas!

I sighed and opened the door.

And in front of me stood the fire ninja himself.

"Hi," I say awkwardly.

"Hey, Sky," he says with a wide smirk. "Are you feeling any better?"

"Yeah, I'm feeling a lot better."

"Can I come in?"

I nodded.

I felt so embarrassed that he was still in his suit from the party while I'm wearing polka dot pajamas.

He sits down on my couch and asks, "So, what was the real reason why you left?"

I sighed and sat down beside him.

"I don't know honestly. I just didn't know what do say or do after Dareth interrupted us, so I made the stupid decision of leaving..."

"It's alright, Skylor. But now that Dareth can't interrupt us, do you want to take care of some unfinished business?", he said with a wide grin.

My heart was pounding in my chest as he leaned towards me.

I nodded, and he kissed me.
