Never Realm Disaster

Bad Luck

Skylor's POV

We were about to leave the Never Realm but...

The portal closed...

I look over at Kai.

His eyes look full of both sadness and rage.

I honestly feel like it's my fault.

I probably gave Sorla too long of a hug and wasted a lot of time and that's why the portal is gone.

My thoughts get disrupted by Kai stomping over to our cabin and slamming the door.

"He's not mad about staying here," I tell Sorla, "He's mad because he doesn't want our friends to worry about us."

Sorla sighs. "You should talk to him. You're really good at comforting people, Skylor." She says.

"Thank you. And I will."

I walk over to the cabin.

I put my hand on the door handle, take a deep breath and walk in.

I look around in the tiny cabin and I see Kai sitting on the bed.

I go and sit next to him.

"Don't worry, Kai. We'll get out of here soon." I whisper.

"No we won't. I have had the worst luck ever since we've gotten here."

"It's all because of me." I say.

"Now you're being ridiculous." He says.

"No, it is. You got stabbed by Vex because you ran out to help me. We didn't get to go through the portal because I was taking too long with Sorla," I start. "You should just stay away from me." I say while moving backwards.

When I started moving backwards, Kai got up to make sure that I don't leave.

I should've been looking where I was going because I banged into a wall.

Kai comes over to me and stands extremely
close. He's so close that I feel his warm breath on my cheeks.

"Even if you are the one causing all the bad luck, I like a challenge." Kai says with his classic smirk.

He starts leaning in.

My heart is fluttering like crazy.

He's at least an inch away from my face when we hear banging on the door.

I open it, while trying to hide my blushy cheeks and ignore how fast my heart is beating.

It's Sorla.

"O-oh. Hey, Sorla. What's up?" I ask, trying to relax myself.

"Your friends have somehow made another portal and have come to pick you up." She says.

Kai happily grabs his stuff, says goodbye to Sorla, which I do as well.

We walk over to the portal and see Nya.

"We got more tea leaves for Master Wu. But, it took about 6 hours." Nya says.

"It's been 6 hours since you guys left?" Kai asks.

Nya nods and says, "Do you want to go home or not?"

Kai looks over at me and grabs my hand.

We walk into the portal together.

Finally! Home at last!
