Forehead Kiss

Skylor's POV

I just woke up.

I remember falling asleep at 3 am.

I grab my phone to check the time, and it's 5:30 am.

I can't fall back to sleep, so I decided to get up.

I hope that nobody else is up yet because my eyes are extremely puffy from crying last night.

And to my luck, I was the only person awake.

And I thought ninja would wake up early.

I walk into the kitchen to pour myself cereal and milk.

I go and sit down on the couch to eat my breakfast while watching TV.

It's childish, but I don't care since I'm
dead tired.

But of course, as I was eating my breakfast, my chest began to hurt.

A lot.

I make my way to the kitchen to grab ice.
Much better, I tell myself.

"You ok?" Someone asks from behind me.

I turn around and Nya was standing there.

"Oh... I'm fine. My chest just hurts a little bit."

She frowns. "Why are your eyes puffy?"

I try to think of an excuse.

Got one.

"Oh, uh, because my chest was hurting a lot last night." I say, trying to be smooth.

"You sure that's the reason why?" She asks.

I nod and she rolled her eyes.

"One piece of advice; boys aren't worth crying over. Especially my brother."

How did she know?

"That's not why I was crying." I lie.

She raised her eyebrow. "You expect me to believe that?"

"Yeah, because it's true."

She rolls her eyes. "Come with me."

She grabbed my wrist, and dragged me to her room.

"Skylor, you don't need to lie to me."

When she said that, I began to cry.

"Sorry," I said between sobs. "It's just that I thought that he was starting to like me, but I was wrong. So very wrong."

Nya puts her hand on my shoulder.

"How do you know that you're wrong? Maybe he felt like you didn't want to kiss him, or maybe he felt uncomfortable kissing you in front of the others." She says in a soothing tone.

"But this isn't the first time that he didn't want to kiss me. In the Never Realm, remember? He backed away, then told me that I had something on my face."
