An Unexpected Visiter

Kai's POV

When I hear Skylor screaming, I run outside.
When I'm outside, I see some guy that looks like he stayed in an ice bath his whole life holding onto Skylor.

"Let me go!" Skylor shouts while trying to get out of his arms.

"Why would I? You're Chen's daughter. And the master of amber." He says.

"What are you talking about? She's the daughter of the master of mind. If you need proof, you can let her read your mind." I lie.

"Really? If she's not Chen's daughter, then why does she have red hair like her mother?"

"I dyed it." Skylor says.

"I still don't believe you. How do I know that you didn't obtain the power of mind?" He asks.

"Where would I be able to obtain the power of mind unless I get it from genetics?" she asks.

"Stop lying, girl. I know that you're your father's daughter." He says.

"You mean Neuro, right? Because he's my father." She says.

"That's it. I don't care if you're the master of amber or not. Being a master of the mind is still excellent. I'm taking you with me." He says.

"You're not taking her anywhere." I say.

"Really? How're you gonna stop me? If you had an elemental power you would've used it by now." He says with a big grin.

"Doesn't mean I can't fight." I snap.

"I doubt you can lift a finger." He says.

This makes me super angry and I charge at him.

I try to hurt him but it's impossible when he's holding Skylor.

Skylor kicks him really hard and he flies back.
"Nice job." I say.

"Thanks, but this battle isn't over yet, hotshot." She says.

"Stupid girl, kicking me was a huge mistake." He says.

"And grabbing me was an even bigger mistake." She says with a smirk.

"Really? We'll see about that." He says.

"How?" I ask.

He doesn't say anything but instead throws a staff directly at my chest.

I immediately fall to the ground in pain.

Then, that glacier looking guy runs away and Skylor comes to my side.

"KAI! Kai, are you okay???" She asks me, looking extremely worried.

"I'm fine. Just don't let that guy get away." I lie.

"No, I'm not leaving you alone." She says.

"But you can't let him go!" I say.

She ignores me and runs inside to get Sorla.

Sorla came with, believe it or not, tea.

"What is tea gonna do?" I ask.

"This is healing tea. After 30 cups, you'll be all better. You have to have 5 cups per day." Sorla says.

"Can it bring back my power?" I ask.

"Unfortunately, that is only something that you can do."

Ugh. That would've been so helpful.

Skylor helps me sit up and Sorla passes me the tea.

When a little bit of the tea gets in my mouth, I almost throw up.

"Ugh! Why does it taste like that?" I ask.
