(29) Somebody To You

"Because I...." I trail off, honestly I was lost for words and she saw my distress. Sonja looked up at me with her green eyes, she seemed tired. She let out a yawn.
"Joel you know whatever it is you can tell me right?" She told me, I swallowed my lump and nodded. God why was I such a wimp? Was I ready to say I love you? Of course I was, but I didn't want to overwhelm her.

"Because I was wondering if I could stay for the three day weekend and I'm not needed in the studio. Maybe we could cuddle and go somewhere?" I asked the black haired girl who nodded.

"We can do anything!" She said to me, while I let out a sigh of relief. We were both falling asleep on the couch, she gripped my hand and pulled me toward her bedroom. I pulled off my pants and shirt climbing in next to her.

Sonja curls up to me and falls asleep, I sighed staring at the ceiling. I did love her, I mean what's not to love. She's brave, beautiful and just has a beautiful spirit and soul. I had to stop overthinking things, I tried to sleep but my insomnia was taking over as my mind raced.

"Mm Joel why aren't you sleeping?" Sonja asks in a sleepy voice.
"Just thinking is all. Just nervous about stuff." I said quickly and she looked over at me.
"Get some sleep please darling for me?" She pouted and I nodded. I closed my eyes and held her close to me and slept.

A few days has passed and I found myself sitting in Niko's flat and I needed advice. Rommi was curled up next to his human, this cat was amazing.

"Hokka you look lost, what's the matter?" He asked me, I sighed and decided to have a talk with Niko. He always gave good advice.
"I think I'm in love with Sonja but I'm too chicken to tell her." I said with a sigh. He spat out his beer that he was drinking and started chuckling at the reaction I gave.

"What's wrong with being in love? I mean hell I'm in love with Minna and it is perfect." Niko said to me.
"I'm not saying anything is wrong with it, but I don't want to screw it up. Does she even love me?" I asked while tugging my blonde hair, and the green eyed man laughed at my monologue.

"Are you a fucking idiot or something? Sonja forgave you, after all the names that you called her. I'm surprised she had the courage to do that!" Niko said to me, while tapping his beer bottle. He was right about that part.

"That is true...What if she finds someone better?" I asked. Niko sighs and says.

"You saw her with Joe, did she look happy? No, she truly loves you. Don't you see the way she acts around you?" Niko asks me.

"I guess you're right." I said with a shrug while I sipped my beer. I remember the first time I saw her speaking to Aleksi and Niko at the music store. Then when I went back another time, for music suggestions.

"Now...When will you tell her?" Niko asks me. I remembered that she absolutely adored sixteen candles in the movie, especially the ending scene with Jake Ryan and Samantha being alone in the house with fairy lights around and a cake.

"I need some help." I said, Niko decided to call Joonas, Olli, Aleksi and Tommi over.
"Hokka Boy needs our help, he wants to confess his love for a certain lady and we need to make it perfect, right?" Niko asks and everyone nods.

"I know what kind of cake she loves." Aleksi said, while we sat around brainstorming.
"I have fairy lights laying around and we can work on that." Olli and Joonas said. Then Tommi would be the one who would bring her to my place.

"Excellent!" We exclaimed, her birthday was in three days, so we decided to work on that. I told Aleksi what I wanted on the cake and he would work on it.

Sonja

Joel came and we hung out for three days, watching movies and going out for a walk. Although I did eat shit, I pulled on my GAP yoga leggings with his hoodie which was massive on me, my leather jacket and my high top converse.

I tripped on a cobblestone and fell, I saw Joel crouch down next to my level and he checked me over.

"Babe are you okay?" Joel asks me, glancing over at me and checking me over. He pulled up my legging and saw that I had a bloody knee. It did hurt.
"Here let me carry you home and I'll take care of it." Joel said, he held out his hand and pulled me up.

"God I'm so embarrassed." I whisper while hugging him and burying my face in his chest, he held my chin.
"It's alright babe, do you know how many times I've fallen?" He says to me with a smile.

"Okay!" I said with a smile, he held my hand and gave me a kiss on my forehead. I felt safe for once.

Joel walked me toward my bathroom and he helped me clean up my knee, his face was filled with concentration although he looked deep in thought.

"Are you okay?"  I asked him. He nods.

"Sonja I was wondering something, why do you always wear an onyx jewel?" He asked me out of curiosity.
"Well it sounds stupid but my parents taught me if someone looks at you in a negative way it shatters." I said.

"That's cool." Joel said while he finished cleaning up my knee. We decided to cuddle up and watch Sixteen Candles.
"How did you know I like this movie?" I asked him.

"Just a random guess." He shrugs, the only person I told about that was Aleksi.

"If you say so." I said with a smile, he nods.

"Oh yeah I forgot to tell you, Tommi will pick you up on Friday because I have to do something." Joel said.

"Oh okay." I said. What was he planning?
