I looked out at sea, watching the waves and horizon for any ships. Not that it was my job. I'm not sure what my job here is exactly. I didn't have any doctoral skills or cooking. At the moment, I was existing. It was starting to get boring; well, the bullying from the other girls onboard helped to waste some time.
"Yuki, right?" Thatch, the fourth division commander, asked as he leaned on the railing next to me.
"That is correct," I gave him a soft smile.
"How do you like it on board? I hope no one's giving you too much trouble."
"Hm. Nothing I can't handle," I hummed as I stared out at the horizon.
"How do you feel about learning to cook?"
~~~
I've been a part of the Whitebeard crew for three years now, and I love it. I feel like I have a home. But. Whenever I am greeted, I am filled with guilt, or someone smiles at me. It's worse whenever someone dies because of the intel I give the marines. So here I am again, except it's dark out.
"When's the last time we were out here together?" Thatch asked as he leaned against the railing.
"I believe it was a month after I joined...how's your injury?" I asked, giving him a soft smile.
"Better...still painful. Izo should be checking on me shortly." Thatch snickered,
"You shouldn't worry your family too much," I shook my head at him, turning to look out at the black sea.
"They're your family too," Thatch frowned at me.
I smiled bitterly. If only. If they ever found out why I joined the crew...They would kill me in an instant.
"THATCH!!" Izo, Ace, and Marco yelled as they came on the deck.
"Oph...you're strong, right?" Thatch asked, looking between the three angry commanders and me.
I looked back at them and then to Thatch's pleading eyes. I stretched my arms upwards until I heard a crack. I scooped Thatch up in my arms, and he grinned as he wrapped his arms around my neck, and I took off running.
"OI! YUKI!! DON'T HELP HIM!!" Ace yelled at me,
I ignored him; using my foot, I kicked down one of the doors to get inside, running around. I switched to softer footsteps so I wouldn't wake anyone else up. I stopped when I got to my room and sat Thatch down. I unlocked it, letting him go in first before following after him. Thatch was covering his mouth to stifle his laughter. I couldn't keep the smile off my face.
"You can stay in here tonight...if you want." I looked away with a light blush,
"Hey, Yuki, sleep with me." Thatch said as he laid down on my bed.
"Wh-What?" I squeaked,
I'm sure my face is as red as a tomato.
"Wasn't referring to that, but we can do that too," Thatch smirked at me.
"J-just sleeping." I cleared my throat after I stuttered.
I slipped in beside him, squeaking when he pulled me against his chest.
"Good Night, my Knight in White," Thatch whispered, blowing on my ear.
