Confidence Truly Took a Nosedive

Me: (sees my little "The Future" Notes thing with plans about romance and raising kids and stuff) ...

My first thought: ;-; I actually thought I was going to get asked out.... Boy, was I naive....

Me in response to that thought: F*ck, that's sad! My confidence really has taken a nosedive!! Wtf is wrong with me?!!

My hopeful self: I could still get asked out!!

My lack of self-esteem: No, you know that's not likely AT ALL. Who's going to ask you out? And at YOUR college? And with your plan of occupation? Wtf, you know online dating's the only way you'll-

My hopeful self: NO, WAIT!!! ANIME ST. LOUIS!!!! I MEET PEOPLE!!!! I JUST HAVE TO GET COMFORTABLE WITH ASKING FOR PEOPLE'S NUMBERS SO THAT I CAN DEVELOP OF A FRIENDSHIP— It's perfect!!!

My lack of self-esteem: ... Right. Because 1. You're very likely to become able to ask for someone's number, and 2. You're very likely to find someone who'd actually fit your high standards at such a place.

My hopeful self: ... Okay, maybe 2's true, but hey, I can still get asked out - right? And to 1, if I think it's just friendly...!!
