Chapter 1 - Percy

When the box came and it was addressed in familiar handwriting, TO ME, I freaked out! I think I did so too loudly because Gabe came to see what all the fuss was about. I grabbed the box and ran to my room faster than Gabe could get off his lazy butt.

The box said, "To: Percy Jackson." I opened it to find all sorts of things but my favorite was the letter.

Dear my crazy, annoying, and magnificent brother,

If you don't know what this box means then I disown you. I have a feeling you have been waiting for this box as long as I have though.

I am coming home for the summer! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! So anyway, I got you all sorts of things. I hope you like them.

Tell mom I am coming home! Don't tell gabe though. I want him to open the door and see my face.

Until my release from this military prison!

Your sister,

Peyton.

I grabbed everything in the box and laid it out on my bed.

I got a hat, shirt, prank kit(I wonder if I can use it on Grover sometime...), bean boozled( I will have to ask mom what that is), and- OMG she got me an electric scooter? How? It had to cost 100 dollars!

The shirt is by far my favorite though. It is blue and has the ocean on it. My favorite place in the world is montauk where me and Mom go to get away from Gabe. Sadly, I have never had the chance to take Peyton with me.

When I heard mom get home I didn't care what she had planned for the rest of her day, I grabbed her and dragged her to my room. When she saw all the things laid out on my bed she eyed me suspiciously.

"Percy, where did you get this?" she asked me.

"Read this letter!" I said, shoving the page from Peyton in her face. She leaned her head back and mouthed what she was reading.

"Peyton... Peyton is coming home!" She said excitedly. She was just as excited as me, possibly more. When Gabe had sent the enrollment it was the kind of school that didn't let students drop out. So, Peyton was stuck there until further notice.

I can't believe it has been 5 years!

About 2 weeks later I was still watching the windows everyday after school. And then one day I pulled up to the apartment building and saw a girl sitting on a suitcase and she was holding maybe 5 pieces of paper and looking around. She had very long flowing black hair tied in a braid down her back and eyes like the sea.

When he saw me she got up and squealed, "PERCY!"

"Peyton!" I yelled with just as much enthusiasm.

"I think next time I get to visit I am taking a taxi from California to New York. Do you have any idea how scary it is to fly in a plane?" she asked.

I laughed, "Yeah, I don't think I am a big fan of heights either." I admitted.

"I can't believe how much you have grown! Your pictures only showed your face! Too bad I am still taller than you." Peyton teased.

"So, did you knock on the door?" I asked her.

"Yeah. When Gabe saw me he spit in my face and closed the door." Peyton said.

"He did?" I asked.

"I bet he would have hit me but I look kinda scary from going to military school for 5 years." Peyton admitted.

"Yeah, I didn't recognize you until you screamed my name." I told her, "when Mom gets home I bet she will make the famous blue cookies."

"Oooh. I have been kinda obsessed with blue since you told me what Gabe said. I have also been dying to try a cookie!" Peyton said.
