Chapter 22 - Pit Stop
Hello, have you enjoyed listening to my sister? For some reason she forbade me from reading the last chapter. Almost like, 'Ah! If you read it you will die!' or something. Anyway, it has been a while since she has actually let me write so, yeah.
Where are we? Ares is rude... weird room service... magic casino... [Peyton, keep breathing over my shoulder and you will regret it!] oh yeah, so we were chasing Grover who was disturbing the dead by flying his shoes(I bet a lot of people were turning in their graves).
Now, I know that he wasn't in control of them but... still.
Anyway, we got to the edge of the chasm and Grover tried to fly down it but both me and Annabeth grabbed his flailing arms before he could fly down the pit. It didn't work very well and all three of us were about to go over the edge when a third person joined the mix and we started gradually leaving the edge.
All of a sudden Grover's shoes flew off his hooves and into the chasm below.
"Thank the gods," muttered the voice.
I don't know who they were thanking because we were in a pile on the ground, with them at the bottom[Peyton, you make one more comment on how idiotic I am for not figuring out it was you I will- actually I am an idiot - Peyton stole my pencil! That wasn't me - actually it was me].
Moving on, they quickly dumped Grover, me, and Annabeth off of them before backing up and leaving us to our own devices.
"I swear that next time that happens I will take whatever makes him invisible." Annabeth grumbled.
"Are we sure it's a 'him'? I mean, sure we saw that weird boy earlier but the scream at the amusement park was female. Plus it has been a female talking to us." Grover said.
"And there was that laughter we heard after the Medusa thing. That sounded like it was coming from multiple people." I pointed out.
"Do you guys want help or not? Stop trying to figure out who is behind the mask," hissed a voice.
"See, female!" Grover stated.
"Whatever! I still think there is a boy involved!" Annabeth said, not willing to let it go.
After that we trudged off towards the fields of asphodel. I'm glad too. The chasm/pit place was giving me the creeps. Also, if you listened closely you could hear the faint sound of chanting.
A little while later we were standing in front of the gates to Hades's palace. Time to find the lightning bolt(But more importantly Mom).
