Chapter 25 - Head-ache and visions
I was in the Realm of Morpheus. All around me like millions... no, billions of screens playing this through other people's eyes. I didn't see anyone one I recognized and Connor was still stuck in the time freeze.
"This will take years!" I complained out loud.
All of a sudden there was a huge boom and I was no longer looking at the room but an explosion of green fire. Then the scene switched.
'I'm sorry!' I said in the scene. Before it switched again. I saw a face on the ground. Then I saw a flash of golden eyes and the visions stopped. I was back in the room and clutching my head.
"Stop this! Whoever is doing this please stop!" I yelled.
"Why should i? You are trespassing in my realm!" called a voice.
All of a sudden a few new scenes showed. A metal foot stepping on me. Me on the ground of a marble palace covered in blood, me dueling Ares, me falling through that cavern that I now know leads to Tartarus, I then watched a girl's life drain out of her body before my eyes, after that I saw two boys, one looked like Percy, dueling in a corn field.
"Stop this!" I said forcing the images back out of my head.
"Give me one good reason why you should be here?" said the voice that I guessed was Morpheus.
"I.. have to protect... my brother!" I shouted, throwing my hands down from my head. All of a sudden everything disappeared like smoke. And there was a man standing in front of me.
"Yeah right." he said. Then he tapped my head and I saw all of my worst memories again.
'Brat! Where do you think you're going? I have something to teach you!' Gabe yelled at Percy.
I walked over there and pushed Percy behind me.
'Teach me!' I said knowing full well what Gabe meant.
The scene switched to when we were seven. It was right before I went to Military school.
'Ah you little brat! You thought you could get away with it?' Gabe asked me. I was curled up in a ball on the ground. Percy had accidentally thrown a baseball at Gabe's favorite whiskey. I had taken the blame.
'Yes!' I responded. I couldn't move much because my rib was broken.
'Well ya little brat, time to see how ya like them apples eh?' Then, he kicked me square in the chest and I was knocked unconscious.
"You aren't hurting me!" I said, squeezing my eyes shut to hide my tears.
"No, I was testing your character," said Morpheus. He placed a hand under my chin and lifted my head up. I kept my eyes clamped shut for fear that if I saw the man he would show me more.
"What do you want from me?" I managed to get out.
"Recognition. When you walk down the hall there is a door. You will open it and find your friends waiting. Good luck, Gemini." All of a sudden he vanished.
I was in the room alone, with Connor on my back. I blinked away my tears and ran as fast as I could towards the door. As soon as it opened I found myself flat on my face on the sidewalk.
"OW." I said.
"Peyton!" Alexandra rushed forward and helped me up.
"What is wrong with Connor?" asked Travis, looking at his brother.
"Oh, just a time freeze it should wear off in a bit. We need to get to Santa Monica. Now!" I said.
"What happened?" Aleandra asked as I summoned Guido.
"I followed my brother, kept him from getting killed by my uncle, swore on the styx to get his helm back to him and then used a path in Morpheus's realm to get here." I said.
"Girl, you swore what!?" Alexandra yelled.
"Get on Guido!" I said. Soon we were all on with Alexandra and Travis balancing Connor between them, "Guido, go as fast as you can to Santa Monica!"
"You sure?" he asked me, sending a sidelong glance. Can horses do that?
"Yes!" I said.
"Ok, Hold on tight!" Guido said.
I relayed the message as Guido got us into the air. All of a sudden he flapped his massive horse wings and the sky around us turned black, reminding me way too much of Morpheus's realm. I blinked and when I opened my eyes I found that we were hovering over the beach.
I could see Ares talking to Percy.
"Here's the plan:"
