A/N: words: 2508. IM BACKKKK. and unstable as ever. wrote half of this at 3am like 2 weeks ago so GOOD LUCK LMAO. anyway, enjoy!

A few days after the interview, wedding planning was the only thing on either of their minds. Two suits hung in their closets, and two rings in a small box in their bedside table. Now, they had to plan everything else. They decided on a backyard ceremony and a cookout reception, also held on their own property. Tents, chairs and tables have all been rented for the occasion. The date would be their anniversary, as it is most convenient, and not even remotely soon, as they creep up to the second week of February. A guest list has also been finalized, save the dates have been sent out, and they were about to share wedding party with both Sarah, her boys, and Shuri, who had insisted on visiting them as soon as she got the save the date.

The two women were sitting on their couch, the boys fussing over Alpine somewhere upstairs. "So," Sam started, "I don't really know how to say this without being blunt, so, would you two wanna be our respective maids of honour?" Sam watched as the two women's face lit up, and spared a glance at Bucky, who just smiled, knowing.

"So, Shuri, you'd be mine."

"And Sar, you'd be mine." When Sam met Sarah's eye, he found tears, and raised to pull her into a hug. From the corner of his eye, he saw Shuri practically jump into Bucky's arms.

"I had another question for you, Sar." Sam muttered, his sister's head buried into his shoulder. He heard a sniff, then a hum in response, as if to say go on. "Will you walk me down the aisle?"

"What?" Sarah shouted, as she walked out of Sam's arms, staring at him with wide, teary eyes. Sam grinned, feeling tears gather in his eyes as she stared at him.

"So?"

"Jesus Christ, of course I will, oh my god." Sarah told him, as he brought her into his arms again, feeling tears fall. "You can't just- just drop that on me like that." She breathed out, walking away from him completely, wiping at her eyes, as Sam did the same.

"You knew about this?" She asked, turning to Bucky. He nodded, a small smile on his face that held a thousand words. A thousand emotions, ricocheting in his heart, that hides in that small smile.

"I did, yes." Bucky answered, an arm wrapped around Shuri, as she seemingly refused to let herself cry.

"You couldn't have given me a heads-up, or something?" She asked, sniffling. Bucky grinned, shaking his head.

"He wanted it to be a surprise."

"You shoulda told her, to be completely honest with you." Sam said, wiping the tears from his eyes. Bucky rolled his eyes, huffing out a laugh.

"Okay, I'm okay." Shuri muttered from his side, causing him to laugh again, shaking his head. He lifted his arm, letting the young princess make her way to Sarah, who were already bonding. Bucky found his way over to Sam, enveloping him in a hug. Sam smiled against his fiancé, tears soaking the blue Henley Bucky was wearing.

"Should we go tell the boys?" Bucky muttered, letting Sam loosen the hug.

"Let me get myself together first, but yeah, we can." Sam replied, feeling Bucky lift his arms from his back, bringing his thumbs up to under his eyes, then, as he always had, pressed his lips to Sam's tear streaked cheeks. "Christ sake, you can't do that, I'll cry even more." Bucky grinned, wrapping an arm around Sam's shoulders.

"Do you want me to tell them?" Sarah asked, pausing her conversation with Shuri.

"Nah, we got it." Sam told her.

~~~~~~
"So we get to dress up?" AJ asked.
"Correct." Bucky confirmed, leaning against the kitchen counter with San, their two nephews on the stools for the kitchen island.
