I searched through the rooms in the house, everything seemed practically intact. This had to be a holiday home or something, or maybe the owners just didn't come home from work.

The nursery was perfect for Judith. It had a little white wooden cot with toys everywhere. Everything was intact. The baby probably wasn't even born yet.

The master bedroom walls were pained a baby blue colour and the light shone through the vibrant curtains.

Carl was searching through the cabinets and stacking any food on the counters. Carl turned the tap on and laughed with joy when the fresh, clean running water flowed through the tap. There must be a well connected to this house.

I let Carl search through everything while I brought Judith and a clean sheet out onto the garden. I spread the sheet over the grass and let Judith crawl through the grass.

Judith crawled over to me and I smiled, picking up her hands and letting her hold onto them while I walked her through the grass.

She wobbled around but clasped onto my hands for support, soon learning how her legs work. I let go of her and she was able to stand for a few seconds before she fell and I caught her in mid air.

"Arn't you a smart baby!" I cooed and gently tickled her sides, making her squeal in joy.

Carl watched on from the door, smiling to himself. I smiled and waved him over.

Carl sat down next to me and kissed my cheek before lifting Judith into the air and spinning her around. Judith giggled and Carl set her down, letting her move around the grass.

I sat inbetween Carl's legs and rested my head against his chest.
"Do you think this will work?"

"Anything is perfect when we are all together." Carl whispered in my ear, making me shiver in delight.

"We should probably get inside, it's getting late. It'll be dark soon."

Carl nodded and lifted Judith into his arms, carrying her into the house. I gathered up the blanket and followed.

I handed Carl a bottle of Judith's food and he fed and burped her. She yawned and Carl carried her into the nursery. I sat down on the couch and brushed out my hair.

I hopped up and started a small fire in the fireplace. I searched through the drawers in the kitchen for a saucepan and I grabbed a couple cans of soup to cook.

Carl came back after settling Judith down and sat on the couch.

"Food will be ready in a minute." I informed, pouring the soup into bowls before handing one to Carl.

I didn't even realise how hungry I was before the soup hit my tongue. I let out a happy cry and finished the bowl within the minute.

I turned to face Carl, sitting cross-legged on the couch.

"What are you looking at?" He laughed.

"You." I replied and he blushed.

Carl quickly finished his food and pulled me onto his lap, staring into my eyes. I blushed and looked down to my hands, which were resting on my lap.

Carl lifted my chin so my face was level with his, he leaned in and connected our lips slowly. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer and eliminating whatever space was left between us.

"I could get used to this." I wrapped my arms around Carl's neck and pecked his lips while he straddled my waist.

"Took you long enough though." I giggled and Carl laughed.

"You are like.. way out of my league. Took a lot of courage."

"I wouldn't think so." I blushed at his comment.

Carl cupped my face in his hands and gently stroked my cheek with his thumb, making my eyes flutter shut.

"Don't ever let me go." I whispered and placed a hand over Carl's holding his hand against my cheek.

"I won't." Carl smiled and kissed me gently.

People expect the fireworks and explosions when you kiss the right person. Believe me, it's true. But for me it's a rocket and the MOAB (Mother of all bombs).

The sun had fully set and I yawned, lying back against Carl's chest. Carl laughed lightly and lifted me off the chair with ease.

He walked through our new home and gently placed me on the bed, I smiled and kicked off my boots before slipping under the covers.

Carl soon joined me and I wrapped my arms around his torso, resting my head on his chest as I breathed in his scent.

"I'll never leave you." He whispered and kissed my forehead before I drifted off to sleep.
