"Why?" I asked bewildered.
"Confidential," she said without any expression.
"Does it apply to only Joshua or everyone who works here?"
"Mr. Joshua and two others,"
"Why? What do they do here?"
"Confidential," she said again. It was making me irritated now. Just what kind of websites does he design for them?
I clicked my tongue, "So, you're saying I can't see him before six?"
"Yes, you can wait here if you want to,"
"All right," It was quarter to six anyway.
I was tapping my fingers on the glass counter. "What does your company make?" I asked to pass my time.
"We produce different kinds of electronic gadgets," She took out a brochure and started telling me like an advertising model, "Have a look at them. It's a portable electronic travel pouch, a multipurpose antenna pen with a torch, laser, pointer, and magnet. This is a wireless charging pad, and... that's a touch-activated keychain audio recorder-"
"This seems interesting, can I order one now?" It might come in handy someday.
"Of course, it'll be delivered to your address, please write your information here," She gave me a form.
While I was filling the columns, I heard footsteps coming down the stairs, it was Joshua with his backpack. Suddenly seeing me here, he got startled, took a wrong step, stumbled on his untied shoelaces, and fell down the last two stairs.
The receptionist and I sighed simultaneously seeing his clumsiness. "Mr. Joshua, how many times I've told you to tie your laces properly!" She rebuked going to him. He sat on the steps, then she tied the laces for him. She seems used to this. He stood up straight, bowed to her as in 'thanks', and came toward me.
"Hi, you good?" I said fixing his messy hair. He nodded and smiled. "Let's go," I held his hand. He waved the receptionist goodbye before going out of the building.
"Are you two close?" I asked him. He touched his heart and closed his eyes while stretching his lips into a smile. He does this whenever he likes someone. I love how he has his own sign language. "She's nice to you?" A nod.
We sat in the car, I told him about the jester mask we found and that he had to go to the department with me for five minutes to confirm it.
"What work do you do?" I asked him casually on the way. He mimed typing on a keyboard, 'something technical'. "The receptionist told me that no one was allowed to meet you, why is that?"
He put his index finger on his lips. I rolled my eyes. Confidential. "You don't do anything illegal, do you?"
He shook his head one time, paused and thought something, then gave another head shake. "If you think it's illegal tell me beforehand or I won't be able to save your ass when I'll raid that building," I said more as a warning.
He scowled after hearing the word 'raid'. "I mean, not until someone gives me a tip of some racket going on there,"
After reaching the office, only Seokmin and Seungkwan were there. They gave him the gloves to put on first so that his fingerprints don't superimpose the murderers. He took the creepy mask in his hands and examined it for some seconds, there was a weird kind of terror on his face, may have recalled that horrible night. He put it back in the polybag. "Is it the one?" I asked. He nodded.
