He was trying to get off the hook with his sheepish awkward smile but somehow I made him spill the truth. So, he is a designer, just that he doesn't design websites but weapons.
I got tensed for a moment if he was involved in some weapon trafficking or any other illegal work, then it made me wonder why he always gets himself into every kind of trouble that obliges me to arrest him.
But he showed me his license and certificates on his phone for proof.
He makes blueprint of firearms and defensive electronic weaponry under the federal government. That's why he was able to disassemble my gun without guidance, and that is why they never let anyone meet him during his working hours so that his blueprint don't get in the hands of an outsider. Most of his company's gadgets are for the government, military, and space and research centers.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" I asked.
He bit his lower lip, rubbing the back of his head, avoiding my eye contact.
"Is there... any embarrassing reason?" It felt like that after seeing him.
He shifted his glance back at me and moved his head up and down. "Well, I'm all eyes..." I sat beside him and opened the messenger app on his phone. He released a sigh before typing,
"Scared of me? Why?"
"Yeah? So?"
He looked at me with a mono face as if I was supposed to know everything with that one phrase.
