Destiny told Carlos to call her back in twenty minutes, and sat beside Aubrey while Dr. DuBois explained the different publications he was including in the file folder he presented. The therapist included a business card that Aubrey could use if he had any concerns, or if he was interested in seeking treatment.

"Who do I see about paying for this session?" Aubrey asked, standing from his chair.

The therapist laughed. "You can consider this session on the house," he explained. "I didn't really do much, except explain a few of the basics. We can discuss pricing and payment if you decide to proceed with treatment."

"Thank you," Aubrey said, extending his hand.

    The therapist shook his hand.

"Thank you so much," Destiny said pleasantly.

Dr. DuBois led them out of his office.

Destiny waited for him to close his office door again before turning to Aubrey. "Can you believe that Carlos called? He knows Palmer is in jail."

"I really shouldn't underestimate international news outlets," Aubrey said as he walked alongside her.

"He's probably been looking into Palmer, ever since he's been in Venezuela," she guessed. "He was pretty worried about his family." Her phone rang, and she didn't hesitate in answering. "Carlos?"

"Sorry for interrupting whatever I was interrupting," Carlos said hurriedly.

She laughed. "Are you kidding? I'm just happy to hear that you're okay. But yes, Palmer is in police custody. Or FBI custody. I don't even know which at this point, but he's being contained somewhere, yes."

"An FBI guy with the hottest Jamaican accent I've ever heard in my life called me here, in Venezuela, and said that the FBI wants me to testify at Palmer's trial," Carlos said. "I thought I was fucking dreaming."

She pulled the phone away from her ear. "Garner contacted Carlos to tell him that the FBI wants him to testify, too."

"Good," Aubrey said, looking down at her. "Carlos was working for him at a certain point. I think he's one of the only contacts who is still alive that worked for Palmer - that we know personally, anyway. Maybe he'll have more insight to the crimes Palmer committed."

She placed the phone to her ear again.

"Is that Aubrey's sexy ass I hear in the background?" Carlos asked.

She laughed and looked up at Aubrey.

Aubrey's brows furrowed as he returned her gaze.

She looked away from him and said into the phone, "Yes, it is."

"Tell him that if I was born a woman, I would have rocked his world and put you to shame," Carlos instructed.

Trying very hard not to laugh again, she said, "I'm not going to tell him that."

"Ugh, fine. Then just tell him I said hi."

"Carlos says hi," she relayed to Aubrey.

"Hello, Carlos," Aubrey said, speaking a few decibels louder than normal.

Carlos sighed dreamily at the other end of the line. "The way he says your name, it's just like silk. It's so fucking-"

    "Carlos. Focus."

    "Right."

"Did the FBI agent give you a date when he wanted you to testify, or any timetable?"
