"My reports brought up minimal negative mentions of Graham Enterprises," Destiny explained to Zorica, leaning a hip against Zorica's desk. Dressed in a cotton candy pink Chanel blazer and skirt with a white camisole underneath, she folded her arms across her chest. "Nearly all of the mentions were positive and praise Graham Enterprises from emerging from controversy stronger than ever."
Zorica reviewed the files and and breathed out a sigh of relief. "Ever since Aubrey held that press conference, before he was...before he...ever since then, we've been on an upswing. The positive press just keeps on coming. Did you find any recent mentions about Bridgette or Steve?"
Destiny's expression turned somber. "I did find a few of those of those reports, yes. Small news outlets wondering why the cases aren't more at the forefront."
"When it comes to reports like those, there is little we can do, since it is news," Zorica said, closing the file folder and wheeling around in her chair. She wore her long, blonde hair down. Her fashion sense was always on point, and today was no different. A knee-length pinstripe pencil skirt showcased slender legs. A gray vest buttoned over a black, short-sleeved top and pinstripe-patterned heels completed the look. She tapped the end of her pen on the desk. "I want you to pull all of the stories you find on Steve and Bridgette. Even though there isn't much we can do, I'm sure Brian would want to know that the stories are still floating around out there. If the major news outlets start buzzing about it, it could be something else that we need to address."
"My ears are twitching, is someone talking about me?" Brian asked, rounding the corner of a tall cubicle and approaching Zorica's desk.
Destiny glanced at him, then shifted her gaze back to Zorica.
Zorica beamed at him. "We were just going over the reports for Graham Enterprises mentions," she told him. "Destiny says that some news outlets are still writing articles about the deaths of Steve and Bridgette."
"A few of them are spinning conspiracy theories," Destiny explained to Brian, daring to look at him again. "They find it suspicious that the stories are being swept under the rug."
"The stories aren't being 'swept under the rug,'" Brian said, frowning. He slid a hand into charcoal gray dress pants. "The stories are a part of an ongoing investigation. Not much information is being leaked to the press, because of who the case involves."
Destiny nodded in agreement. "Yeah, but the media doesn't even know who the case involved yet."
"It's only a matter of time," Brian said, running a hand through his hair. "Palmer was taken into custody and charged. Once the media gets a hold of his charges, they're a step closer to finding out the details of the case."
"Since the FBI is involved, maybe they'll be able to keep the details under lock and key," Destiny pointed out. "Maybe that's why they've-"
"-Already kept the details hidden," Brian finished for her, narrowing his eyes. "Good thinking. You could be right."
Zorica looked between the two of them. "Finishing each others' sentences, already? You've only worked together for a few months."
Brian's trademark lopsided grin made an appearance.
Destiny laughed nervously. "I guess Brian and I were just...on the same wavelength," she said, looking up at him. "Great minds think alike."
"Get me the names of the media outlets who are running the stories on Steve and Bridgette," Brian instructed, backing away from them. "We have a meeting in Conference Room A in an hour. Thirty-fifth floor."
