Dani~

"Text me when you land," I tell him as we stand inches apart just near the security line.

"I will don't worry."

"I'm gonna try to come out before things start to pick up for both of us."

"Okay."

We hug. It's the first time we'll be apart since being married. Not that much has changed, except my last name. It'll just be like last year except I won't be traveling as much internationally.

He kisses me, "I love you. Please listen to your body."

"I will. You too though. I love you too."

He kisses me again before I grab his backpack. "I'll see you soon."

I watch him go to security, quickly making it through as the airport isn't too big. I head out to the car, quickly as it's still too cold here.

I make the 15-minute drive over to the Olympic training center. I'll probably get shit for showing up late. I grab my backpack out of the back before going inside and heading to our locker room.

I quickly change into my practice stuff before heading out to the court. "She gets married and thinks she can be late just because," my coach says as I walk over to the group.

"Hey, I had to do wife-ly things this morning and take my husband to the airport."

"Hmm, I see. Well, anyway, we're working in stations today. Hitters and setters with Coach Erin. Back row with me. You're going to get split into groups. Work in your groups and after ten minutes you'll switch stations." We all nod, splitting ourselves into our main positions before getting to work.

"Hey, Yelich!"

I did not like that. I'm not used to it, I guess. I turn around and look at my coach. He waves me over. His face is just about the same as mine. He didn't like that either.

"Mikayla, you too," he waves her over too.

"I think I'm going to stick with Campbell. Yelich is too much."

I laugh, "Okay."

When she comes over to us he shows us our schedule. "Okay, so there are too many weeks in between matches in June. So I was thinking of adding in at least one more but possibly two, maybe three."

"Why are you telling us this?" she asks.

"Because I want to see if we can do scrimmages at the Field House in Madison."

Our faces light up, "And, if you're both up for it, I was thinking of getting in contact with the athletic director for your high school to have one there too."

"Really?" we both say, the excitement in our voices very noticeable.

"Yeah. It's not often a national team has two athletes from the same zip code let alone high school and college. It'd be a chance for your families to see you. I think if it can happen, you guys can talk to your high school team, and then we can all talk to the team at Wisconsin. I figured any profit would go to your athletic department at the high school. Then the profit made at the Field House can go to the volleyball program."

"I'm in. Any chance to give back, I'm all for it."

"Same here. It would be cool going to our alma maters before the Olympics."

"Okay. I will talk to some people and hopefully, we can make it happen. In the meantime, don't say anything to anyone. Dani, that means you can't tell Christian."
