"How many flights do you have?" Christian asks as we stand outside of General Mitchell Airport. I'm on my way to Paris to watch my girls play in the World Championship.

"Two. I have a short flight to Chicago and an eight-hour flight to Paris."

"Let me know when you get there."

"I will but you'll be asleep."

"I don't care. Text me."

"Okay, okay."

"I want you back in one piece."

I laugh, "You know that means Mikayla will be attached at my hip."

"I'm aware."

I smile as he opens up for a hug. He wraps his arms around my waist while I reach around his neck. "Safe travels. Have fun. Get yourself some more hardware."

"Only if you promise to take my city far this year."

"We'll see. We still gotta clinch the division."

"You will."

He holds on longer than I do but I let him. "Thank you for dropping me off."

"It's no problem. I'll see you in a week?"

"Yeah, hopefully as a world champion."

"Go claim that title."

"We will."

I drop my stuff off at my hotel room before making my way over to Mikayla's. I cover the peephole before knocking on her door. She knew I was coming but didn't know when I was getting in.

She opens her door, "Oh my god! You're here!" she says, hugging me.

"Come in! Sit. We have a lot to talk about. You've been gone for too long."

She brings me into her room and has me sit on her bed. "Tell me everything."

"Where do you want me to start?"

"How are you and Christian?"

I involuntarily smile, "He dropped me off at the airport for my flights and he wanted me to tell you that he wants me back in one piece."

"He knows I'm not leaving your side, right?"

"Yes, he does."

"Tell me more! Any more spicy moments?"

"Yeah. I don't know, neither of us is really saying anything about it so we're just continuing on. I tell myself every day that it's not logical and then that night I'm in his bed. We're just at a weird spot right now."

"A good spot?"

"Yeah. You were right about him seeing a girl. She was crazy," I laugh, remembering what he was telling me.

"She didn't want him talking to you?"

"Yeah. He cut her off after seeing that text that I sent him because I thought his text was from him but it wasn't. We talked about it and then I went to his game the next day. That's when we almost kissed in his car and then I got bold in his apartment. Then he kissed me and I did nothing but kept going."

"And that has continued ever since?"

"It just happens, I guess. It'll be dark and then the next thing I know we're making out. I don't know where we stand right now. Nobody has put a label on it. You're the only person who knows this unless he's telling Travis this too but I doubt that. Travis is pretty nosey about it.
