It's A Good City.

I meet up with the other wives that kept Brielle while at the game today. Zara made it in perfect time. I got to go back for my last Opening Day and enjoy it with Brielle. She got to throw out the first pitch to me before the game. It did not make it to me but it's the memory that means the most to me.

"Thank you for watching her," I tell them.

"She was amazing. How's the new one at home?"

"Hopefully they're both doing good. I just want to get home to them."

Brielle holds my hand as we walk out to the car. I get her into her car seat, "Go home?"

"Yeah, we're going to go home and see Mom, Grandma, and Zara."

I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket. I take it out and look at the pictures Dani has sent me of Zara.

Dani <3: Can you bring home coffee? And maybe some food?
Me: Of course. Your normal?
Dani <3: Yeah

"We have to get some coffee and food for Mom before we go home, okay?"

"Okay."

Brielle walks into the kitchen in front of me as I carry Dani's food and coffee. She ran to my mom as she sat on the couch. "Are they upstairs?"

"Yeah."

I go upstairs to our room and set the food on the dresser. She sleeps on her side with Zara beside her in her newborn lounger. I reached over Dani and picked her up as I saw she was awake. "Hi, sweetie."

I hold her head in one hand and her body in my other. I sit next to Dani as she still sleeps. I rub her side so she can eat.

She looks over at me. "I have your food and coffee," I tell her.

She sits up and takes her food. "Thank you."

"How was today?"

"Her appointment went well. She gained some ounces. She got one shot but her pediatrician said she looked good."

"Good. How do you feel?"

"I've felt better. It's not the worst I've ever felt though."

I put Zara in her lounger before giving her the bag of food. I set the coffee on our nightstand. "I've never been more excited for coffee."

"Brielle was asking for you on our way home."

"She can come up here."

"Does she need to eat?"

"I just fed her about an hour ago."

"Okay. Are you sure you want her up here?"

"Yeah."

I go downstairs, "Brie, come with me. Mom wants to see you."

She climbs off the couch and walks upstairs with me. I push the door open and she walks over to the side of the bed. "Zara?"

I put her on the bed in front of Dani. "She's over here."

She crawls over to her and sits next to her. She's so gentle with her as she hugs her little sister. "How was your game? I tried to watch but she was not happy at the time."

"We won. It was a good game."

"Mommy, I threw the ball!"

I pull out my phone and get the video to show her. She watches it, "You did so well."

She starts eating her food as Brie climbs off of our bed after kissing her sister on the cheek. "Grandma has food for you."

I hold Zara again as Dani eats her food. "Do you need anything right now?"
