31) Drinking to forget

A lot of time has passed since Jimin and N kissed twice that day. It had been 2 months to be exact. Jimin and N still did therapy together as the about half a year long partner therapy process wasn't over yet, however they did go back to doing therapy in the actual therapy building instead of at Jimin's crib, as they had experienced physically for a while now so the therapist wanted them to focus on the mental stuff again.

As for N, her anxiety was getting a lot better! The fact that she now knew that her and Jimin were on good terms, aaaand that he still loves her, really helped and motivated her to feel her best! And whenever she felt too anxious to handle it on her own, she turned to Jimin rather than her bestie, as that time he helped her made her realize just how safe and protected he still makes her feel. As for her education, she was literally graduating soon as she was able to start where she left off when she got kicked out due to her troubles with anxiety.

Luckily Jimin's getting better process was going in the same positive direction! Since Jimin started working for N's cousin Tiffany he had a lot less free time which meant a lot less time to drink. He also enjoyed the job and he purposely took on extra shifts to limit his free time even more, as he really did want to stop drinking. This major shift in motivation came from how things were turning out with N as well. The fact that Jimin FINALLY got the reinsurance and closure he needed meant that he didn't have to stress about wether N still likes him or not, as he now knows she does.

Relationship-wise they still weren't dating again, but that was mainly because they hadn't talked about it yet, and because they both needed time to get their own shit together before they could fully date again. However as N came close to graduating, something that could possibly ruin her building relationship with Jimin came up...

You see, as graduation came up so did prom and N's classmate Taeyong saw this as a great opportunity to confess his feelings to N. As Jimin predicted, Taeyong was in fact in love with her and not only did he confess, he asked N to be his girlfriend AND prom date as well.

N didn't know what to do as she didn't want to hurt Taeyong's feelings. She obviously didn't feel the same but she did like Taeyong as a friend and she didn't want to lose him as she didn't have that many people left because of her anxiety, so she panicked and told him that she would have to think about it. As she got home however, she was too stressed to think about it and she just wanted all her anxious thoughts to leave her the hell alone. She decided to text her bestie for advice, which led to them agreeing to meet up.

However N's best friend was busy today so they would have to wait until late to meet. As N needed to clear her head immediately she decided to call Jimin, not to tell him about Taeyong, but to ask him if she could come over so he could distract her from her stress.

It was around 4 PM so N hoped that Jimin would be done with work and luckily he was. However he got off work pretty early today and even though his drinking problem was getting significantly better he was actually drinking right this moment, so who knows how he'll respond to N calling him? Jimin had been drinking a lot already and even though he wasn't drunk yet he was definitely not far from it. As he saw N calling he picked up so fast lmao.

Jimin: "N? Hiii, what's up" he said, trying to hide his excitement which was a but difficult considering that he was pretty close to being drunk lol.

N: "Hii...uh, I was just wondering if...you're finished with work for today...?"
Jimin: "Oh yeah I am, I finished work a couple of hours ago, is everything okay?"
N: "Well...I uhm... something happened and like... I'm just really stressed right now you know... sorry if I'm bothering you or anything"
Jimin: "Aww no you're not bothering me at all, I'm sorry to hear that though... is there anything I can do?"
N: "Uhm...are you free right now?"
Jimin: "Yeah, I'm free"
N: "Okay... then would you mind if...you know I came over?"
Jimin: "No not at all, you can come over but uh just so you know.. I'm drinking right now aaand I'm like a little bit drunk but if you don't mind then of course, yeah you can come over"
N: "Oh... uhm that's okay... I just really don't want to be alone, I just want to focus on something other than the things that are stressing me out..."
Jimin: "Right, I completely understand"
N: "Thank you, I'll come over in about 30 minutes then, is that okay..?"
Jimin: "Of course, I'll try to stop drinking more then" he smiled as the call ended.

About 30 minutes later N managed to get to Jimin's place and just as Jimin said he stopped drinking while he waited for N to arrive. He was still effected by the alcohol though as he had been drinking a lot prior, but he tried to act as natural as possible. He went to unlock the door and the two greeted with a quick friendly hug as they then went to sit on the couch.

N: "Thank you so much for letting me come over..."
Jimin: "Of course, anytime" he smiled as he couldn't stop admiring her... the fact that he had been drinking made it hard for him to control himself because he really missed her, but he tried is absolute best to behave.

Jimin: "So do you wanna talk about what's stressing you out or do you still want to focus on something else..?"
N: "Uhm...I don't really want to think about it right now...or talk about it, if that's okay..."
Jimin: "Of course, I understand I just wanted to make sure. Mmm do you want a drink then? That always helps me to focus on something else when I'm stressed"
N: "I know it does.. well I'm meeting my best friend later tonight but I guess one drink is fine" she smiled as Jimin then went to get a drink for her. However while grabbing a drink he couldn't resist the urge to drink as well..

Jimin: "I know I'm technically not supposed to drink when you're here but uhm.. do you mind if I have a drink too?"
N: "But weren't you drinking when I called you?"
Jimin: "I was.. but you know, I was drinking to forget something as well so... would you mind?"
N: "Right.. I understand, I don't mind then" she smiled softly as Jimin then brought a drink for both of them.

Time passed and what started as one drink quickly turned into more as both of them were stressed and had something they wanted to get their attention away from. Before they knew it they were both drunk... and not gonna lie, it's risky to get drunk with your ex when there's still feelings involved... Things might escalate!
