Chapter 12

  

                 I am sitting at the kitchen table having my coffee. Last night was another long night of intense passion. Thomas and I knew it would be our last for a while. We wanted to make sure we took full advantage. I must leave to get the girls at the airport soon. I am so excited. I miss them so much! I am letting Thomas sleep. I am sure he doesn't want to do the airport. He could be recognized. It could be an awkward first meeting. I get my purse and keys. I let Lauren know I am coming right back. That I was getting her girl and grandmother. She started getting very excited. She missed them very much too. "Wait my love! I am coming as well! I cannot in good conscience, not be there to greet them. I am trying to make a good impression. Let me just make a coffee for the way. Do we have time to stop somewhere so I can get them some flowers?" He asks making his coffee. I found out he usually will do tea unless he is exhausted in the morning. After last night we both were. I look at my phone and let him know we have plenty of time. He asks what their favorite flowers are. He really is trying to impress them. I ask if he is nervous, and he says extremely. I say to relax they are going to love you. Chloe already does. He smiles faintly. Not one hundred believing me. I kiss him to try to calm him. He relaxes a bit. "Shall we go my love?" He asks not wanting to break our embrace. Knowing we won't get to be like this for a while. I get the keys to the Land Rover. We are going to need all the room we can get. Getting in the car he puts on his play list. He loves teasing me with this doesn't he? My revenge for teasing Chris I guess. That thought amuses me. "Are you ready baby?" I ask. He nods his head. I can tell he is anxious. I hold his hand the whole car ride to the flower shop. When we get there he picks a beautiful bouquet of pink roses for Chloe which are her favorite. The young lady behind the counter helps make a bouquet of different types of daisies for my mother. Daisies have always been her favorite. Daddy use to get them for her all the time. When we are all paid the girl asks if it is ok to take a picture for the shop. As the ever gentleman he is he obliges. He is very sweet to his fans. I love that about him. He is so humble and appreciative of all of them. We get back in the car and head to the airport. It is a smaller one in our state so I hope he can get a bit of a break from being recognized. I tell him that it is ok if he wants to stay in the car while I get them. He adamantly refuses. Explaining that is not what a gentleman does. He does not want us struggling with luggage and the sort. That is his job now when he is with his ladies. He certainly knows how to make a girl feel special. We get to the airport and park the car. We sneak in on last very passionate kiss before going in. He puts a hat on and some sunglasses just trying to be a bit more inconspicuous. They are landing any minute. We wait by the gate. Him with two huge bouquets in his arms. Looking a way I would never expect a man as him to look. Utterly shaking with nerves and excitement. It's quite adorable to say the least. He really does want to make this work.

               I see them turn the corner. Boy do I spot her. She is literally covered in everything Loki. She even has the Loki Mickey ears still on. He looks at me smiling. "See my love, absolutely nothing to worry about. She already adores you. She is trying to impress you." He takes a deep breath. You can tell her little show of kindness settled him. Good job my little love. They keep walking and she spots us. She is about to yell. I put my finger to my lips, so she knows now is not the time. She nods her head knowing what I mean. She flashes him the biggest smile I think I have ever seen on her. The look on his face. Oh yeah, he is done. She has got him wrapped already. Mom gives me a little wave and a big smile to both of us. She always knows this woman. Somehow, some way she knows. Suddenly Chloe is in a sprint. Yay! My baby missed me! I open my arms waiting for the impact. Nope didn't happen. Her arms are wrapped around a very stunned but happy man. I am trying not to be insulted at this moment. I am enjoying the joy both seem to be having. He wraps his arms around her. "It's very nice to meet you too little dear. That is one impressive hug you have." He looks at me so happy like a kid almost. He strokes her hair looking back down at her. "These are for you my little dear. I hope you like them." He hands her the flowers. She lights up "These are my favorite thank you so very much Thomas." She beams and he does right back. They are in love already. The sight warms my heart. "Um baby girl are you forgetting someone?" I say teasing. "I am so sorry mama I just got excited." I finally get the hug I have missed. At this point mom has caught up to us. Thomas straightens up. "It's a pleasure to meet you ma'am. I'm Tom." He says as he gives her the flowers and extends his hand. "You are even more handsome in person. Tom it's a pleasure to meet you. Even though I have seen your face about a million times in our house. I'm sure by now you are aware how much my daughter admires you. Please, call me Kathy. We don't shake hands in this family as you could tell by my granddaughter." She pulls him into a hug and kisses his cheek. I die of embarrass inside. I thought he was supposed to be the one in the awkward position here. "Thank you very much Kathy. I am aware that she admires my acting. It's quite an honor to have her admiration" He says. "Yea your acting, that's it." Snickers my thirteen-year-old. "Chloe!" I warn. My mom giggles.
