Chapter 6: How did you know? (Part 2)

Pinagpahinga ako sandali ni James. Umalis na siya. Babalikan na lang daw niya ako bukas. Sabi naman ng doktor, kailangan kong magstay until tomorrow sa hospital. Sayang nga kasi hindi ko makakasabay kasama ng ibang contestant yung bahay na titirhan namin. I NEED to stay in the hospital. 

Magseseven o'clock na nung pinuntahan ako ni Sanun...

"Apples? An apple a day keeps the doctor away" sabi niya habang hawak hawak ang basket full of fruits.

Nagsmile naman ako sabay sabi, "Why are you here?"

"Uhm... Visiting you?"

"You.. you're alone?"

"Just by myself" sabi niya tsaka lumapit at tinulungan akong umupo sa pagkakahiga ko.

"By the way, congratulations"

Oo. Pasok si Sanun sa top 12. Tanggal ang mga second placer ng Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, and Malaysia.

"What did the doctor says about your condition?"

Actually, hindi ko  alam ang tamang sagot sa tanong ni Sanun. 

2 hours ago...

"You know that what happened is not only because you're tired and stressed out right?", the doctor asked. Tumango na lang ako.

"Did your doctor and parents know about this?", tanong ulit nung doctor.

"Yes dr., my doctor allowed me to join this competition"

"I see. Then I don't have the rights to stop you from this. I guess I'll just give you some medications to help you cope up more in your situation"

"Yes. Thank you doctor. But... Do you think my body can handle this?"

"If you collapsed and vomit blood again, I guess we can't do nothing but to bring you back home"

Hindi ko alam kung masisiyahan ako sa sinabi ng doctor pero nakakaalarm ang mga pangyayari. Nakakabaliw.

"By the way, I already said to the entertainment that handles the competition about your condition. James told me that you want this opportunity badly so I told them to let you stay unless this won't happen again"

(Back with Lia and Sanun)

"Lia?", sabi ni Sanun habang winave niya ung kamay niya na nakatapat sa mukha ko. "You, okay?"

"Huh? Yes I'm fine"

"Well, I was really worried about what happened a while ago" sabi ni Sanun. "So I wanna know what the doctor said"

"He said I'll be fine. It's only because of too much stress. I didn't expect there will be elimination as soon as we arrived. You know, it made me nervous too much"

"Are you sure it's just because of the competition?", tanong ulit ni Sanun. Umupo siya sa chair then said,

"You vomitted blood"

Napatingin na lang ako sa kanya. Shocked and hindi alam ang sasabihin. Napatahimik ako. Siya rin. Nakatingin din siya sa akin pero walang expression yung mukha niya.

"I have leukemia"
