"Calm down and take a breath," Destiny said, laughing.

Carlos pressed a hand to his chest. "I'm sorry. I speak fast when I get excited. But what's the juice?! Tell me."

"Last night...was kind of crazy," she admitted, finishing the chopping of the green peppers and dumping the chopped pieces into a small container.

"Will you leave the damned peppers and talk to me?" Carlos shrilled. "I'm about to suffer cardiac arrest over here, and you're chopping up veggies like you're not about to drop the biggest gossip bomb of the year on me."

Destiny licked her lips and raised her hands to her hips. "What I have to tell you in a nutshell? Aubrey made Rihanna watch us fuck. At first, I didn't know she was there, but he told me to pretend that she was there. From the way he was acting, I could tell that she was really there, so I told him to bring her out in front of me. He did. We cuffed her so she couldn't get away, so she had to stay and watch...and I had my nails digging into her thighs while he was fucking me doggy-style." She shrugged and took the container of green peppers across the kitchen so she could set it down near the stove. "That's all," she called over her shoulder.

By the time she returned to the island counter, Carlos's jaw had dropped nearly down to the top of the counter. His eyes were glassy; he looked borderline catatonic. His eyes shifted from Destiny over to Aubrey. He looked like he needed some kind of confirmation that Destiny wasn't completely bullshitting him.

"What the little lady says is true," Aubrey confirmed. "Robyn didn't appreciate the show we put on for her, so she had her crew pack up. They left."

Carlos brought both hands up to cover his mouth. The hands over his mouth did very little to muffle the loud scream that he let out.

Destiny and Aubrey patiently waited for him to stop screaming. When he didn't stop, they started flirting with each other again.

"How?" Carlos asked, when he found his normal speaking voice again. "How do you guys do that?"

"How do we do what?" Destiny asked innocently.

"How do you do something as epic as that and then just...stand there chopping up vegetables like you're fucking Martha Stewart. Tell me what you just told me like you were talking about some normal shit, like going to the grocery store. Flirt right in front of my face like you didn't tell me that you fucking cuffed Rihanna and forced her to watch you two fucking. Come close to fucking right near the food that you most likely were going to offer me. All like it's normal, like we're in some twisted Stepford Wifey movie or some shit. How?"

Destiny raised a hand to her forehead. He was right. She'd managed to be cavalier about the entire situation. Granted, she and Aubrey had spoken about it the night before, but the fact that she could wake up as if the previous night was normal, was a bit disturbing. "I guess...that has become my new normal," she said, turning to look up at Aubrey.

"What is normal?" Aubrey's question was predictable, seeing as he hated the word.

"Definitely not what the fuck you two are," Carlos mumbled. He covered his mouth again. "Rihanna. You fucked in front of Rihanna. And...you're like...her ex-boyfriend. So you forced your ex-girlfriend to watch you fuck the woman you're currently engaged to..." He paused. "I need a mimosa. Or popcorn. Or something. I need some shit right the fuck now, because this is tew much. Waaaaay tew much for ole' Carlos to grasp."

"I haven't even told you the details," Destiny said flippantly, watching Aubrey chop onions.

"Details?" Carlos perked up. "There's details?"

"We didn't just make her watch us. I told her how good he fucks me, and told her that she fucked up by letting her go, asked her how she could let him go, and told her he fucks me too good for me to ever let him go."

    Carlos gasped. "Who are you?"

    "You know me."

"No I don't, bitch," Carlos protested. "I know Destiny Richards, the sweet journalist from back in D.C. who used to work in a fucking bakery. I know the girl who always had flour on her pants, and some on her cheeks. This bitch standing in front of me right now? Talking about shit-talking Rihanna while fucking in front of her, and - did you say you had your hands on her fucking thighs? So, like... you almost had an orgy. You almost had her participating in it, but not really. Like...this person? I don't know this person. This person is a whooooole new bitch."

Destiny took time to assess her feelings as Carlos was speaking. To her own surprise, she didn't feel one lick of shame or regret. There was no feeling of longing for the girl that she'd used to be, the girl who Carlos had just described. Those days back in the bakery felt like another lifetime ago; in actuality, those days hadn't been that long ago, but she'd seen and experienced so much since those days. What she'd seen and experienced were beginning to shape the woman she'd become. That was something that she was aware of at this very moment. And this moment felt different than how she'd felt in that sex club when she'd stared at herself in the bathroom mirror feeling like a completely filthy human being. There was some part of her that felt like she should feel filthy. After all, the events that had transpired the previous night straddled the line of legality if not completely crossing over it. But she didn't feel filthy at all.

Maybe she didn't feel filthy because deep down, she felt like Aubrey's ex-girlfriend deserved to see what she was missing. Maybe she didn't feel filthy because deep down, she felt like Aubrey deserved to show his ex-girlfriend what she was missing. Destiny didn't know why she felt completely okay with what she and Aubrey had done, but she had a feeling she wasn't going to figure that out while standing in the kitchen staring at Carlos. "You're right," she confirmed for her friend. "I am a whole bitch. And...really, I think I like who I'm becoming."
