Soft kisses on her inner thigh, and a head subtly moving beneath the sheets. Destiny opened her eyes. For the first few moments of consciousness, her life was no different than it had been the morning before. There was nothing like waking up to a beautifully intense man going to town on you first thing in the morning.
But the events from last night crept into her mind, and she rose up on her elbows.
Aubrey's head poked through the top of the covers as he kissed his way up her stomach, landing chaste kisses around her navel.
Her eyes met his. She forgot that she was supposed to be the Dominant. She forgot that Aubrey was supposed to be the submissive. She forgot that she was supposed to be training him. In that moment, both of those roles seemed to float out of the bedroom window. In that moment, she was Destiny Richards, soon to be Destiny Richards-Graham. How soon? As Aubrey ran a hand over her belly, she thought, Not soon enough.
"A penny for your thoughts?" he asked, his kisses continuing their way up to her breasts. "If I have the permission to ask."
A faint smile touched her lips. "That I don't know how I'm supposed to train you after finding out I might be pregnant. It feels like my entire world has been turned upside down."
"Don't tell me you're going to let a little thing like pregnancy keep you from your duties as a Dominant," he chastised in a joking tone.
Pregnancy. The P-word sounded even more foreign coming out of his mouth. Another word that begins with P? Panic. Which is what's currently setting in. She looked up into his face, noting the pensive expression he was wearing. "A penny for your thoughts?" she asked, using his own words against him.
"I don't know what to think, honestly," he said.
She looked away from him, trying to squash the fear that was building up in her. Not too long ago, Aubrey had been dead-set on not even having children - so much so that he'd gotten a vasectomy. Was he already regretting that he'd gotten the procedure reversed? Would he resent her forever for pressuring him to have children? Had she pressured him? She struggled to remember their past conversations about the topic, tried to remember just how pushy she'd been.
They stared at each other in silence, each wondering what the other was thinking.
"Instead of the whole training thing this morning, could you just..." She paused, while searching for the words. "Could you just hold me? Please?"
"Of course, baby girl." He moved to lie beside her, and wrapped thick, corded arms around her.
With his arms around her this way, it somehow felt like everything was going to be okay, like all of her fears and doubts were unfounded. "We've come a long way since you making my cell phone vibrate in my pocket back in D.C.," she said softly.
He chuckled low and deep in her ear.
"It wasn't even that long ago but I feel like since then, I've seen so much, learned so much, done so much..." She hesitated, then finished, "Loved so much."
"There's so much more for you to see, learn, and do," he said, running his fingers through her hair. "And there's so much more love for you to experience."
"If you...if you don't..." She stopped herself.
"Hmm?" he murmured.
"If you changed your mind about...if you don't want..." She fought back tears of frustration.
His hand went still in her hair. "You don't think I changed my mind about having children with you?"
"It's a big deal," she said. "And for so long, you didn't even want to..."
