The Warriors won their game. Of course. Watching the game paled in comparison to watch Mr. Richards's excitement over having courtside seats, though. Destiny sat with Aubrey on one side and Candace and Jasmine on the other. Candace and Jasmine busies themselves with gushing over the attractive basketball players, while Aubrey jumped up shouting at some of the referees' calls.

"Unacceptable," he muttered, sitting down and smoothing down his tie, clearly bothered.

Destiny's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "You really get into the games, huh?"

He shrugged and some of the irritation disappeared from his face. "No matter how professional I try to be, some shit still gets to me, I guess."

    She leaned against him.

He wrapped an arm around her and continued watching the game.

After the game, it was back to the jet. The night sky was beautiful out of the small, circular window near Aubrey's elbow.

Carlos and Jasmine fell asleep leaning on each other, and Mrs. Richards rested her head on Mr. Richards's shoulder.

"I would say today was a success," Destiny said, looking up at Aubrey.

"I'm glad you think so," he said, looking out of the window.

"It's hard to believe that they'll be gone tomorrow. I was just getting used to having them all around."

"They can visit. We can visit them. Your father wants to see more of us, more of you." He fidgeted with his cell phone.

"Your phone finally stopped ringing," she said, giving it a pointed glance.

    "Was it bothering you?"

It hadn't bothered her, so much as made her curious. It felt like he was hiding something from her. She forced a smile on her face. "Of course not."

He leaned down and kissed her forehead. "I'm exhausted. I can't remember the last time I spent a full day out like this."

    "We'll be home soon enough."

He grinned and brought the back of his hand up to his mouth.

    "What?"

"Nothing. I just...like the sound of you calling it 'home.' That's all."

She rested her head on his arm. "Well, it is."

"You're right," he agreed softly. "It is."

When the silver Sprinter van pulled into Aubrey's driveway, the first thing that struck Destiny was that the driveway was filled with cars. She straightened in her seat and stared out of the window. Then she nudged Aubrey awake.

He wiped at his eyes. "What?"

"We're here, but..." She pointed out of the window.

His gaze followed the direction she was pointing in. He glanced at his watch and opened the side door to the van.

"Who's here?" she asked, watching him step out of the van.

Carlos's head popped up. "Are we back at the house?"

"Yeah, fool, now move your arm," Jasmine muttered. "Mine is asleep because of you."

Destiny followed Aubrey out of the van. "Who's here, Aubrey?"

"You'll find out shortly." He waited for everyone to step out of the van, then led the way to the front door. The minute he opened the door, the sound of tiny foot steps introduced Sadie's presence before she rounded the corner and ran at Aubrey. He laughed and knelt down to pick her up. "Long time no see, little partner."
