Chapter 19: I couldn't protect you

Johnny enters the meeting room with Taeyong and Karina. Everyone except Haechan seems to distance themselves from Sungchan.

And Haechan has sunglasses on for some reason.

Karina clears his throat, "We don't know who but someone spread personal information about Sungchan-"

"Can we just forget who? Sungchan is the son of a police officer! Do you understand how dangerous he is!?" Irene interrupts Karina.

"Yes his dad is a police officer but-"

"He could easily put us in jail." Doyoung interrupts Karina as well.

Johnny slams his fist against the table. "The next person to interrupt Karina is getting sent to the basement. Do you understand?"

"Yes, sir. . ."

Karina sighs, "Yes, Sungchan's father is a cop and Sungchan could easily get us in jail but he won't. A few years ago while his father was trying to hunt us, Sungchan managed to put the final pieces of the puzzle together before him. John saw the potential in Sungchan and offered him a position in NCT. Having a cop's son is beneficial to us. We can get important Intel from him."
Karina finally explains to them without getting cut off.

Irene stands up. She slaps Karina across the face. "Really now? Do you know how many times we've nearly been caught!?" She questions.

Johnny pushes Irene away from Karina. "Sit down, now." He orders but Irene ignores him. Instead she moves onto Sungchan.

She grabs Sungchan's collar and forces him to stand up before punching him. Haechan stands up and pushes Irene. "Didn't you hear Johnny? Sit down!"

"Are any of you not thinking right? He's a risk factor. We need to get rid of him. The sooner, the better. Seulgi says she stands up. Everyone nods their heads, agreeing with Seulgi and Irene.

Johnny sighs, rubbing his temples.

"What do you mean get rid of him?" Haechan asks

Seulgi pulls out her gun. Haechan immediately understands. He stands in front of Sungchan with his arms out. "You have to get through me first." He says.

"Are you serious? You're protecting him? Your life is more important than his right now." Seulgi says. She's about to cock her gun when she feels a gun to the back of her head. She hears it cock. "Enough." Johnny says.

Seulgi puts her gun away before going back to sit down. "Haechan, get him out of here." Johnny orders. Haechan takes Sungchan's arm and hurries out of the meeting room.

Johnny walks back to the front. "Have you two lost your mind?" He asks Irene and Seulgi. "None of you are not laying a finger on Sungchan. If anyone tries it, I'll have that person's head."

"But-" Soobin tries to speak up but Yeonjun steps on his foot.

Johnny scoffs, "You all must take me for a fool. I know what I was doing when I offered Sungchan a position. If he wanted to take us down, he would have a long time ago."

"Who says he won't? He still has a chance." Doyoung says. Jisoo stands up, "My mother was in NCT for 10 years yet she still betrayed us. Who knows what Sungchan can do?" She speaks.

"We have to eliminate Sungchan before it's too late." Irene says.

"No. We're not doing that."

"We have to."  Mina argues.

"I said no one is killing Sungchan. What I say goes. This meeting is over. Leave now." Johnny announces before sitting down. Everyone gets up, all huffing and puffing about the situation. They definitely weren't happy.
