★ Chapter Twenty-six

Chapter 26: Beginning of an end

Mia and Yiren light the smoke bombs before throwing it on the floor and boom, the place starts to fill with smoke.

One by one, the men start coming for them.

While the first group makes their way to the second floor. The men start shooting at them. They cover behind the machines.

Meanwhile,
Rosé takes her cutlass, a smirk on her face as her eyes glimmer with malice.

"You know what you're doing, right?" Jaehyun asks.

"Of course." She turns to the direction of where all the ruckus is coming from.

"You know, when you fail-"

"I won't." Rosé states.

Jaehyun clears his throat. "When you fail. . . All your properties, money, everything you own will go to me and you'll become nothing but a failure." He declares. Rosé lets out a scoff, glancing at Jaehyun as he turns to leave.

"I won't become a failure like you."

"Me? A failure?" Jaehyun cackles. "I'm not the one about to lose. . . Continue to boast but when the time comes, don't falter." And with that Jaehyun leaves, jumping out the window.

Rose tightens her grip on the hilt of her sword.
"I've been waiting for this day too long to fail." She thinks to herself.

Meanwhile,
Yiren reloads her gun before opening fire on the men shooting at them. She gets two before getting shot herself in the shoulder. "Are you insane?" Mina pulls her down. Yiren closes her eyes, groaning as she holds her shoulder.

Doyoung throws away his Glock for an L85 rifle. He takes the rest of the men down, clearing the way out for the second group. "I'll stay here and help Yiren." Mina tells them.

"Stay just in case." Johnny orders before he and the others go.

They're careful as soon as they reach the next floor. Someone throws a grande, sending everyone into panic as they scatter, taking cover.

The nearby window explodes.

Johnny fires the first bullet before their gunshots everywhere. Taeyong takes out his desk of 'cards' and throws it, the blade slashing a man's throat, said man falling to the floor holding his neck. Ryujin finishes the job by shooting the man in the head, blood splattering.

Johnny looks at him. "What the hell are those?" He asks. "Just some cards." Taeyong winks.

Johnny wants to chuckle before Taeyong pushes him out the way, shooting a man who was aiming for Johnny.

Jungwoo goes under the man's arm, dodging the knife before grabbing his arm from behind and twisting his arm before kicking his leg, throwing the man onto the floor.

Lia then shoots the man, Jungwoo briefly thanking her. They stand back to back. "There's too many, goddamnit!" Lia complains. "Ryujin!" She calls out before throwing her gun in the air, Ryujin does so as well, switching weapons. Lia shoots down the men surrendering them.
