Chapter 42: Paint for me

A few days pass by and it's time for the party. Everyone is running around getting ready.

Meanwhile, Sicheng sits in front of the vanity as he wears bright diamond earrings with a simple suit. The earrings were definitely not appropriate for an event that isn't about him.

The earrings were one of a kind. It's a gift his mom had given him a few years ago. Sicheng smiles, lightly touching it. His mom sure had good taste, always going for rare and highly sought after jewelry.

Yuta enters his room, slowly closing the door behind him. His presence after being gone for days makes Sicheng's heart jump with joy. He gets up, immediately running to Yuta and hugs him.

Yuta spins him around before planting a quick kiss on his lips. "Where have you been? I missed you." Sicheng questions.

"I had to. . .attend to something urgent." He answers and before Sicheng can even ask about what was the something, Yuta shuts him up. "Doesn't matter though." He says.

"I'm here now and you look absolutely amazing."

"Thank you. You're not too bad yourself." Sicheng replies before going to grab his gun. He slips it into his waist.

"Hurry up!" Karina's voice booms, surprisingly loud enough to reach the third floor.

Sicheng clings onto Yuta's arms as they go downstairs together.

Doyoung is talking with Karina when his gaze unintentionally shifts towards Sicheng and in an instant, words fail him, leaving him breathless.
The shimmering diamond earrings draw attention to Sicheng's face, showcasing his warm tones.

"Woah. . ." Yiren marvels in absolute awe as Sicheng walks past her. Mina crosses her arms, scowling as she tries not to look at him.

"Oh my god, I love your earrings!" Karina compliments, causing a breathtaking smile to grace his lips. Doyoung finds himself unable to tear his eyes away. How could he when Sicheng is so undeniably captivating?

"You're drooling." Karina whispers to Doyoung.

Doyoung tucks in his lips as he finally looks away.

"Where is Irene and Jisoo? Where's Yeonjun?!" Karina questions. She yells some more to hurry them up.

"Yeonjun isn't coming. He doesn't feel well." Soobin tells her. Karina slaps his nape. "Could have said something before." She rolls her eyes as he chuckles.

Jisoo and Irene come running down the stairs, heels clanking loudly against the glass. Karina turns to leave with Doyoung, leading the way.

Everything at the party screams wealth. There's a live band playing as dancers entertain guests. Kim Jaekyung sits proudly on a gold throne with his wife. The venue is extremely huge. Karina worries she might get lost here.

She spots Ningning and basically runs to her. "Oh my god, what are you doing here?" She asks.

"What are you doing here?!"

"I was invited!" Karina beams.

"Me too!" The two squeal, jumping together as they hold hands. Doyoung sighs, just watching over the two.

Ningning goes to grab her and Karina a drink. She orders two champagne glasses and the bartender quickly pours two glasses.

"I hope you don't plan to spike it." Yuta says, causing Ningning to jump. She clutches her heart. "Don't creep up on me like that. . .and no. It's for Karina. Why would I?" She stares at him with a puzzled expression.
