Chapter 35: Nothing stays hidden under the sun
"What are you talking about?" Chanyeol questions.
Kyungil gets up and leaves, coming back with a torn up photo. Chanyeol immediately recognizes it and pulls out the ripped photo he had before.
"The first thing people noticed about Ji is her enchanting beauty. She wasn't only beautiful. She had dreams and ambitions. She wanted to start her own restaurant. I met her while on a mission, undercover to find a traitor. . ." He starts.
Kyungil crossed his arms, tapping his foot out of irritation. "Till we can get the police off our backs," His leader, Jaeho, handed him a fake ID and some papers. "You will go undercover as a regular college student to find that bloody traitor, Han Kangdae. He works at this university as a professor." He explained.
"And I'm supposed to pass as a what? A 20 year old maybe?"
"That's just 2 years younger than your real age. You act like a child anyways." Jaeho insisted. Kyungil snatched the ID and papers and took them, strutting off.
Kyungil's eyes scanned the room as soon as he entered. He sat down in the very back, where it would be harder to notice him.
"Um, excuse me. . ."
Kyungil didn't care to look up as he took his notebook out. "What?" He responded, rather rudely.
"You're sitting in my seat." The melodic voice said. Kyungil rolled his eyes. "Well, I don't see your name on it." He said.
"I always sit here though. Everyone knows this is my seat."
Kyungil looked up and quietly gasped. His mouth hung slightly opened as he took notice of her honey brown eyes. They had a sparkle to it, shining so effortlessly, and giving her eyes life.
He cleared his throat, keeping composure. "Well, it looks like you're sitting somewhere else today. Quit whining like a child." He said in his most stable voice. She eventually gave up and sat somewhere else.
Kyungil's eyes lingered as he couldn't help but stare at her. Her beauty was enchanting, it was unreal. He almost forgot the reason he was here. He tore his eyes away from her and focused ahead.
Kyungil kept a distance from Kangdae as he watched him. He watched as he entered a record store and followed.
Kyungil tilted his sunglasses down to get a good look of the place, eyes scanning the place. He paused as soon as he saw her but ignored her presence.
He needed to focus.
Kangdae turned around, prompting Kyungil to find something to do in order not to look suspicious. He picked up a record and went to the counter.
"What are you doing here?" Kyungil asked with a light chuckle. She scowled at him as she took the record.
"I don't know if you can tell by my fake tag but I don't work here." She smiled as she replied with a hint of sarcasm. Kyungil awkwardly smiled. "Still mad I took your seat?" He asked. She shook her head. "No but you were staring at me like a creep. Almost gave me a heart attack when I turned around." She said as she scanned the barcode.
Kyungil scratched his nape, feeling guilty.
"You were just looking at me like some animal. Your eyes were like this." She stared at Kyungil with eyes wide open. She laughed at herself, finding it stupid. Her laugh was so beautiful. Kyungil's eyes looked for her tag. "Song Ji-Ah?" He marveled.
