Masquerade 59

The sound of glass shattering is what makes Taeyong rush over to Johnny's office. He finds Johnny as he sweeps his arm across the desk, sending papers, pens, his computer, and a wine glass all to the floor.

Taeyong stares at the flipped coffee table in shock as he slowly comes in. "Johnny. . ." He calls out but he's too wrapped up in his rage.

Johnny grabs the paintings off the walls, throwing and smashing them to pieces. He kicks his desk down, stomping on it till he gets his leg caught. He doesn't care even when he pulls out his leg in such a manner that the wood pierces through it, causing him to bleed a little.

Taeyong's seen enough. "Johnny, stop it!" He yells. Johnny stands there, chest heaving and his eyes burning with a mixture of anger and despair.

He takes a step forward but Johnny points a finger at him. "Do not come near me, Taeyong." He warns.

"Why? What's going on? What happened earlier? Talk to me. . ." Taeyong pleads. They came back home nearly two hours ago and Johnny hasn't explained anything. Taeyong even asked Joy, but she only told him to ask Johnny.

Now, he's even more curious as to what happened because Johnny hardly ever gets this angry.

"I should talk to you?" Johnny scoffs, taking Taeyong by surprise. "You won't even talk to me so what makes you think I'll talk to you?"

Taeyong stands there with his mouth open but his words fail him. He should have known he'd backtrack to this topic. "I just. . ." He starts but he realizes he can't say anything. There's nothing he could say without revealing the truth.

"Get out, Taeyong. . ."

Taeyong takes a step back, almost in disbelief. Johnny hasn't talked to him with that tone in such a long time.

"I said get out!" Johnny shouts at him, viciously.

Taeyong walks out with a lump in his throat. He heads upstairs, running into Sicheng and Doyoung on the third floor. He avoids eye contact. He can't talk to anyone, not in this state at least.

Sicheng mutters a small greeting only to receive no response. His smile fades into a frown but he notices Taeyong's tense demeanor.

"Hyung?" Sicheng goes after him, Doyoung follows behind.

"Hyung!" He grabs Taeyong's wrist, stopping him in his path. That's when Taeyong finally turns to him, revealing his teary eyes and quivering lips.

"Oh my god. . ." Sicheng gasps. "What happened to you?" He asks. Taeyong shakes his head and looks up at Doyoung. Sicheng follows his gaze and gestures to Doyoung with his eyes.

"I'll give you two some privacy. . ." Doyoung says, understandingly before heading off into his room.

Sicheng takes Taeyong into his room and sits him down in his bed. He comforts Taeyong as he sobs into his hands.

"It's okay. . ." He whispers.

"No, it's not okay. . ." He chokes out. He looks up, his eyes red and cheeks stained. "I don't know what to do. I can't bring myself to tell him. I'm going to lose him. . ." His murmurs, his voice cracking.
