Later in this chapter you'll meet one of Mrs. Berlusconi's sons, Luca. I didn't have a picture of him in the character section, so just imagine him as a more Italian version of Damon Salvatore from TVD ;).
" You'll love this family," my mother said as I stared out the window. I looked at her, " the daughters are lovely, and their songs are respectful gentlemen," my mom informed me. " And the guy I'm marrying?" I had to ask. My mom sighed, " he's the oldest, he's wise, loyal, respectful, loving." " Is that what he told you or what his family said?" I asked. My mom smiled, " I wouldn't be putting you in a dangerous family Evangeline." I stared at her, " he's a nice man, he wouldn't ever hurt you," my mom said softly. She patted the empty seat next to her, I scooted over before resting my head down on my mom's shoulder.
" You have such a long life ahead of you Evangeline," my mom said. " I trust this family to protect you, love you, just how we did." " Did you and dad want a daughter?" I couldn't help but ask. My mom frowned and looked down at me, " why would you ask that?" " Everyone else hasn't gotten a marriage arranged for them, but me. Dad talks to the others everyday, he takes them out, works with them, and I feel like he's not even close to wanting to be with me," I explained. My mom scoffed, " your dad and I love you very much, don't you ever think otherwise. Your dad's just, he's a very busy man and so are all your brothers." " I sometimes think this whole marriage thing is just a way to get me out of the house and away from everyone."
My mom lifted my head so that I was looking directly into her eyes. " Don't think for one second that you are not as important as your brothers are," my mom said shaking her head. " This is just how things go for people like us okay?" I stared at my mom, people like us.
Within a few minutes, we pulled up to a huge steel gate. " Here we are," my mom sighed. Looking out the window, my eyes were astonished to see probably the most gorgeous house I've ever seen in my entire life. Tall marble pillars stood at the front of the house. Black railings slid down both stairs pooling down the house. Plants and flowers dotted every inch of the territory, accenting the place as a whole. The house seemed to stretch out for what seemed like forever. Gardeners worked, trying to maintain the thriving plans and flowers.
As our driver punched in a code, the steel gates slowly opened up. " The Berlusconi family is very different from ours," my mom informed me. I looked at her, " their daughters especially," my mom teased. I smiled softly, " just, try to fit in okay?" My mom asked. " I'm marrying their son, do I really have a choice?" I asked. The car drove around a roundabout before coming to a stop. Our doors were opened for us, I followed my mom out of the car and into the cool air.
We followed our driver up to the door, where a guard stood. Without hesitation, the guard turned and opened the door. Inhaling deeply, I followed behind my mother as we ventured into the house. " It's so good to finally see you guys!" A cheerful, womanly voice exclaimed. I turned my head and watched as a woman in a tight, red dress walked down the stairs. He hair was styled in a low bun, her makeup made her look extremely young. She had an hourglass shape to her figure, the dress accenting every curve. Her chest barely fit in her dress, knowing that it would catch everyone's eyes. She wore black six inch heels, adding to her already tall frame. She smelled of berries and coconuts, her scent could be smelled from miles away.
