Song: In the stars by Benson Bone-the song is for later on in the chapter when Domenico is at his desk in his office.
Oh my hell, that was A LOT. I don't even know where to start😅. So... all that happened and I'm still trying to digest it all. Anyway, hey guys😭😭, how was all that for you? I kinda just threw up so much stuff onto you guys, so pleeease tell me what you thought🙏🏽. As sad as it is to talk about, how do we feel about Evangeline's death?🥲. Writing that part, I'm not even going to lie, had me in tears. Also, writing Domenico's pov about it all had me feeling a bit numb and depressed. My boy deserved better than that, and I literally hate myself for putting him through that😭😭.
Anyway, as unfortunate as all that was... the book is still going on!! So please, comment whatever you want, I want to know everyone's thoughts about the last bunch of chapters😘.
Again, please, comment, like, and vote!!💗Dante, Alessandro, Damien, Diego, and Mateo all stood beside me as I stared at Guilianio. " For a man like you Domenico, actions speak louder than words," Giuliano uttered. Folding my arms, I inhaled softly before saying, " I'm done playing games with you, Giuliano." A smile tugged across Giuliano's face as he said, " what's so wrong about having a bit of fun?" Clenching my jaw as amusement gleamed in Giuliano's eyes, I forced myself to relax as I answered, " the games you play end up with innocent people dead." " Oh, and what you do is so different?" Giuliano asked. " We are nothing alike," I corrected him. " Yet, we are," Giuliano retorted. I stared at him as he went on saying, " money once consumed your being, you pushed away family, involving yourself with work until it had you on your knees."
Shaking his head, Diego defended me by saying, " He's changed, in more ways you won't ever be able to understand." Averting his eyes to Diego, Giuliano said, " a man doesn't change, he gets distracted." Scoffing, I asked taking a step forward, " is that what you call it?" Giuliano's eyes flashed back over to me as I asked, " family, happiness, love, that's all just some distraction?" " You've e become a weaker man, Domenico," Giuliano pushed back. "The weaker you become, the more powerless you are." " All of Italy is terrified of you," Dante cut in as he stepped forward. Giuliano looked at him, " you have no one, no family, no one that gives a shit about you," Dante added. He stared at Giuliano before saying, " you're here alone, so what exactly does that mean to you?"
" I don't need followers, I don't need a family," Giuliano said, vexation gleaming in his tone. " So all this," I said. Giuliano looked at me. " What you did to me, what was it for, revenge?" Chuckling, Giuliano said, " I warned you Domenico, and you chose not to listen." " I gave you an answer," I said sternly. " And it wasn't good enough," Giuliano said back. Dropping my arms to my side, I slid them into my pockets as I asked calmly, " why'd you have to kill her, why not me?" Slightly tilting his head to the side, Giuliano answered, " Evangeline was the weak spot your heart melted for." Hearing Evangeline's name leave Giuliano's mouth sent a piercing shiver down my spine.
" You were distracted, so I took the distraction away," Giuliano explained. It took everything in me not to blast a hole through Giuliano's head as he stared up to me. " The worst part of it all was that you didn't even get a chance to meet her," I said calmly. As anger filled my eyes, I said, " after everything she's been through, what you did to her, you'd change your mind about her." " And why is that?" Giuliano simply asked. Seeing the utter satisfaction that filled Giuliano's eyes, I instantly realized that all I was doing was bowing down to the pure pleasure and entertainment Giuliano desired.
