Harper, Adam, Bree and Chase stood in the school hallway

Harper, Adam, Bree and Chase stood in the school hallway. Harper wore a baggy blue top, black skinny jeans, and brown ankle boots, with her hair in a rough ponytail.

"Listen up, space-fillers!" Principal Perry shouted as she entered the hallway. "This is Emergency Preparedness Week. An emergency drill can happen at any time. So, when the alarm sounds, you must evacuate the building in an orderly fashion- like cattle, if cattle had acne.... and braces.... and a future filling up my gas tank."

Harper narrowed her eyes as Perry chuckled and walked away.

"Oh, man! I wish I had Bree's super speed!" Adam complained. "Because you do not want to be stuck walking behind cows in an emergency, trust me on that."

Chase furrowed his eyebrows. "You would trade your super strength for Bree's super speed? Man, if I had your strength, I'd just run out of the building juggling those cows."

"Yeah, and if I had your super-intelligence, I'd have walked away from this conversation thirty seconds ago." Bree told her brothers.

Leo grinned. "Hey, you know what would be awesome? If you guys took out your bionic chips and switched your abilities."

"Why can't we?" Chase wondered as he turned to his siblings in excitement.

Bree instantly pointed to Chase. "I call your super-smarts!"

"I call your super-speed!" Adam yelled as he pointed to Bree.

"I call your super-strength!" Chase shouted, pointing to his brother.

"I call good looks and charisma! Oh, too late. Already got 'em." Leo added with a smirk.

Harper rolled her eyes. "Yeah, sure."

Leo gave her a look and crossed his arms. "Clearly you claimed the sarcasm."

The next morning, the five teenagers gathered in the lab, huddled around the control panel in front of the capsules. Adam, Bree and Chase were excited to switch their chips.

"If you guys are gonna switch your chips before school, don't you think you should run this by Davenport first?" Leo inquired.

"They're our chips." Bree replied.

"But this isn't as simple as changing remote batteries." Harper interjected, eyeing the bionic siblings. "Doing this can cause a glitch or something."

"Well, yeah, but what if something glitches out and you end up with Adam's gigantic head on Chase's tiny, doll-like body?" Leo wondered.

"Plus, aren't your bionics calibrated to match your biology?" Harper asked.

"We don't have to ask 'daddy' for permission on every single thing we do." Bree told them.
