The school day had just finished, and the energy in the hall was still buzzing with the remnants of the day's lessons. Chase, always one to spark competition, confidently declared that he could beat Adam in an arm-wrestling match.

Adam, being the physical powerhouse he was, took the challenge lightly, jumping into lunges as if warming up for a heavyweight fight. Meanwhile, Chase stood ready next to the circular bench in the main hall.

"Chase, there's no way you can beat Adam arm-wrestling. It'd be like a chicken wrestling an alligator. All we hear is a cock-a-doodle crunch." Leo remarked.

"He's right, bro. Your spaghetti arms are no match for these meatballs." Adam taunted, kissing his biceps five times with exaggerated affection as he did lunges once more.

"Hey." Chase called nonchalantly. "When you're done kissing your girlfriends, let's do this."

That was all the spark they needed. The bionic brothers leaped onto the bench and positioned their elbows firmly on the surface.

"Better back up, Leo and Harper. You're in the splatter zone." Bree warned with a small grin.

"Okay, I want a clean match. No whining, screaming, crying, or tap-outs. I'm looking at you, Chase." Leo said. Chase shot him a bored look, almost uninterested. "Three, two, one, go!"

The match began, and in the blink of an eye, Chase licked his hand, quickly clasping it with Adam's. Adam groaned in disgust as Chase slammed his hand onto the bench, pinning it down effortlessly.

Harper stifled a chuckle, watching in amusement as Chase jumped off the bench in victorious triumph.

"Hey! No fair! He licked his hand!" Adam complained, immediately wiping his hand on Bree's shirt.

"Exactly. Clever beats strong any day."Chase bubbled, pointing at Adam with a grin that was as wide as it was smug.

"Chase wins." Leo declared, raising Chase's hand in the air, but then he paused. "Wait, which hand did you lick?"

"That one." Chase answered nonchalantly, raising the victorious hand.

Leo immediately dropped his hand with a groan and wiped it on Chase's shirt.

But Harper, always quick on her feet, raised Chase's other hand in triumph. "Chase wins!"

Just as the banter settled, Marcus walked down the stairs with his usual laid-back demeanor.

"Hey guys, how's it going?" He greeted.

"Marcus!" Harper exclaimed, rushing over to him in excitement. She had missed him like crazy while he had been out of town with his Dad for the week.

Marcus flashed her that signature sweet smile, his eyes lighting up when they met hers. Without missing a beat, he wrapped his arms around her and, in one smooth motion, lifted her into the air. Harper let out a soft laugh, her heart soaring with the familiar comfort of his embrace.
