At school in the cafeteria, Harper, Adam, Bree and Leo sat down at a table after waiting in the lunch line.
Harper was fumbling with the pendant around her neck while the others were engrossed in the yearbook from last year.
"Greetings, puke puddles!" Principal Perry called out as she burst through the cafeteria doors. "Tomorrow is 'Yearbook Photo Day', and while I'm not sure why anyone would want a record of this awkward phase of your lives..." She glanced at a student and grimaced at his appearance. "Uhh. I'll be your photographer. Oh, and don't blink, cause homie don't do retakes!"
Harper narrowed her eyes as Perry began laughing excitedly before leaving the cafeteria.
"Well, that settles that. I am so getting my hair done right after school." Bree declared.
"Oh! Van you bring me back some clippings off the floor? I need 'em to finish building my 'Taj Mahair'." Adam asked as he grabbed a palace made out of hair from the ground beside him and placed it on the table.
Bree, Leo and Harper all shared looks of disgust.
"Where did all of that hair come from?" Harper wondered, slightly concerned.
"Pets, shower drains, brushes- if you want it, you can get it." He simply replied.
Bree cringed. "Well, that is disgusting."
"Yeah." Adam agreed with a smile. "Well, if you think that's gross, wait until you see 'Buckinghair Palace'."
"Why are you so concerned about a stupid yearbook photo?" Leo asked his sister.
"I am still trying to live down last year's picture when I wasn't ready for the flash and my eyes glitched." Bree explained, picking up the yearbook.
Chase approached the table as Harper leaned over the bionic girls shoulder. Instead of the brown eyes you always saw, her eyes were dilated and pitch black.
"Bree, your zombie picture was the least of the problems with the yearbook." Chase reassured, tossing an orange in his hand. "Perry photo-bombed every group picture. Drama club..." Bree flipped through the pages and saw the photos. "Cheerleaders.... Swim team-"
Without hesitation, Harper snatched the yearbook from Bree's hands and slammed it shut.
"No! None of us need to see that again!" She declared firmly.
The bell rang, signaling that lunch had ended. The group said their goodbyes and split off. Chase, Leo and Harper strolled out of the cafeteria and into the main hallway.
"Move thirty-two! Hut! Hut!" Trent's voice was heard as he tossed the football and his teammates went to catch it. They weaved through everyone in the hallway. Chase, Leo and Harper made their way to the side. "Yeah! Boom!"
"Trent, what are you doing?" Chase questioned as the three of them approached the senior.
"Using football practice as an excuse to knock over innocent bystanders." He answered.
