Dancing teddy bears & red carpets

Soon later Maya fell asleep. Carina was wide awake, staring up at the ceiling, fingers intertwined with Maya's, thinking about what their wedding day would be like.

"My wife... Maya Bishop..." Carina whispered to herself and laughed lightly.

It had been just under two weeks since Teddy and Owen's wedding. They were currently on their honeymoon and had been for the past 9 days. Owen's mom had been looking after Leo since they were away, but she had to go back home the day before Owen and Teddy were due back. As soon as Carina heard that Leo had no one to look after him, she instantly volunteered.

It was now Friday morning and Leo was due to be dropped off any minute. Maya was frantically running around the house, picking various items up and moving them around.

"Bambina stop worrying, it's going to be fine" Carina tried to reassure the blonde.

"Carina kids grab everything, they put them in their mouths, and they choke".

"Okay, okay" Carina giggled lightly as she grabbed Maya's hands, "we have moved everything that is unsafe for him already. Try and relax bella, this will be good for us. Some practice with looking after a cute little bambino" Carina winked.

Maya let out a deep breath, "okay, okay you're right. Let's enjoy this" Maya smiled. Carina nodded in agreement as she leant in to kiss her.

The doorbell rang, "that'll be Leo, I'll get it" Carina said, walking towards the front door. "Hi Evelyn!" Carina smiled, "come in, come in".

"I can't stay dear. I have to be on the road soon. Here are all of his bags and toys, everything you need is in there".

"Thank you" Carina took them off her, "hi bambino" she said cutely to the little boy.

"Hi" he replied, eyes twinkling in the sunlight.

Maya walked into the hall, "hi buddy" she smiled, and Leo waved at her.

"Give grammy a kiss, I have to go now" Evelyn said to Leo. They said their goodbyes and Carina shut the door as the older woman drove off.

"What do you want to do now bubs?" Maya asked the little boy, noticing his little lip starting to shake. His eyes filled with tears, so Maya picked him up, "what's the matter Leo?".

"I-I mmiss grammy" he cried.

"Oh, it's okay shh don't cry baby" Maya tried to comfort him, "she had to go back home but there's some good news. You get to spend the whole day with me and Carina" Maya dramatically said, tickling his tummy, "Carina makes the yummiest pizza... we can make some together later if you want?". Leo nodded softly, beginning to stop crying. "We can watch a movie and eat loads of chocolate too, what do you think?".

"Yes!" Leo cheered and clapped his hands.

"Okay, no more tears buddy okay. Your mommy and daddy will be here for you tomorrow as well" Maya explained and Leo nodded, cuddling into the blonde's neck.

Carina took Leo's bags into the living room, Maya and Leo following.

"I have to go to the bathroom" Maya explained, putting Leo on the floor.

Leo walked over to his bag and pulled out a teddy as Maya walked out of the room, "who is that?" Carina asked as she crouched next to Leo.

"This is Mr Cuddles" he said softly.

"Wow! Nice to meet you Mr Cuddles" Carina said, shaking the bear's hand. Carina sat with her back against the sofa and watched Leo come and sit on her legs, facing her. He placed the teddy in between them and pretended he was dancing.
