Chapter 25- The Hidden Leaf

Kushina took around an hour to rest, they were constantly sprinting through trees after their encounter with his old comrades. She blamed it on the fact that she is rusty and needs to train.

"Do you believe you have family?" The question took Tobi by surprise. He thought for a moment. When Tobi looked at Kushina again she looked completely dead serious. Tobi thought for a while and Kushina gave him the time to think. Think about what he long forgotten years ago.

"My answer will be questionable." Kushina nodded. "Of course." She beckoned Tobi to continue. "I do not believe I had family. I may be part of a clan, but I don't remember having any family." Kushina frowned. "But, I do believe I had friends. I remember figures in my past. They appeared a lot in my memories."

Kushina stood up and studied Tobi. "So you do remember?" Tobias shrugged. "It's rather I remember things, but I don't know what made them special. So they are in the back of my head. Like how you forget over time what you had for dinner." Kushina slowly nodded.

"That is something that sounds like induced amnesia." Kushina said in a hushed tone. She looked at Tobi before staring in a direction. "Let's get moving again. We will arrive in a few hours." Tobias nodded and followed Kushina.

"I hope... That this decision, doesn't get anybody else killed."

He heard talking. It was everyday conversation from what it sounded like. Kushina smiled and slowed her pace. "We are here. There is nothing stopping us from walking the rest of the way." Tobias nodded. He slowed down and landed on the ground next to Kushina.

The taking sounded like mumbling. So he couldn't make out what they were saying. Then a gate came into view. Which must have been the hidden leaf. Tobi felt his hand twitch.

"Are they talking really loud?" Tobias finally said. Kushina shrugged. I hear things occasionally so I suppose." Kushina studied Tobias.

"Can you hear them?" Tobias nodded to Kushina's surprise. "For a couple minutes now." Kushina looked at Tobias with surprise. "You have excellent hearing." Tobias shrugged. "Yes, I suppose." Kushina laughed.

The two figures that must have been have a fake fight looked at them. They quickly went into their respective positions. "Are they guards?"

They finally crossed and a man with spikey hair and a scar across his face greeted Kushina. She waved back in response.

"We will go to the Hokage's office, if I'm correct Jiraiya and Minato should be there right now." Tobias nodded.

"Be aware of Jiraiya, he's a pervert, don't let his views poison you." Tobias was very confused. Why was she warning him?

They made it to the Hokage's tower and Anbu opened the door for Kushina. They looked warily at Tobias but let him follow Kushina. He was a new face, it only makes sense they are on guard.

Kushina knocked on the door and let herself in and motioned Tobias to follow.

The yellow haired man gave Tobi a strange look but quickly greeted Kushina. Must be her husband. Minato right?

"Who is this he smiled at Tobias." Jiraiya quickly butted in. "Hey I know you!" Tobias looked at him. "You do?" Kushina looked equally confused.  "I met you when you were smaller. Perhaps 15" this Jiraiya guy rubbed his chin.

"I recognize your scar." Tobias remained quiet. "You informed me on a hideout that Orochimaru resided in." Minato and Kushina looked at Tobias with wide eyes. Though Minato composed himself and became what a Hokage should be known for.

"That was the last time I saw of you." Jiraiya nodded at the end of his flashback. "I was on a mission to uncover the hideout of the kidnapping association." Kushina frowned.

"I wish Orochimaru hadn't distracted you." Minato and Jiraiya looked questionably at Kushina. "He is apart of that orginization, and from what he tells me since he was 13." Jiraiya and Minato's eyes wondered over to Tobias. Jiraiya's gaze was sad.

Minato looked back to his wife. "He came here, willingly?" Kushina nodded. "He accompanied me to the Uzumaki clan ruins and back here." Minato's eyes widened.

"Why come here willingly? Everyone else always..." He trailed off. "The man who brought me to that place wronged me beyond what I believed possible. I am all but loyal to that place." Minato smiled, though Kushina frowned.

"It was the death of the women right? The other Uzumaki?" Minato's eyes widened. "Another Uzumaki?" Tobias nodded. "He had killed her and rubbed her death in my face." Kushina gasped and covered her mouth.

"You didn't tell me that part." Her eyebrows furrowed. Minato seemed equally upset but he didn't show it like Kushina.

They share the same feelings. Almost like they are one person. Though perhaps, that's why they are married.

"Why were you out an about anyway?" Jiraiya finally asked. He went straight to business. Tobias eyebrows furrowed. "Your kind seem to stay in your bases unless you are partaking a mission." Jiraiya questioned.

Tobias moved his lips but no words came out. "I... I cannot say." Kushina bit her lip.

"He has a seal, I believe they all do. They cannot harm those responsible who did this, nor can they speak of missions. It freezes them." Tobias let out a sigh. "It's also very painful." Kushina raised an eyebrow.

"When I try to speak of missions it's like my vocal cords disconnect. It's not a pleasant experience." Minato slowly nodded.

"Did you examine the seal yet?" Kushina nodded.

"It's complicated. It's been on him for years, becoming only more complex and more hopeless to remove as time passes." Minato nodded. "I see." Minato smiled toward Tobias, his smile was obviously fake, but not in the way you'd think.

His smile was meant to encourage Tobias. But deeply this man was beyond upset.

"What's your name?" Minato finally asked after a tense silence. "Tobias." Kushina frowned. "He is also an Uchiha." Minato looked at Tobi with wide eyes.

"Can you activate it?" Tobias nodded. "They want proof. It's only fair."

Tobias activated his Sharingan. Minato examined his eyes. "I have never seen a Sharingan with that shape before." Tobi nodded. "I believe Orochimaru said it was named Mangekyou." Jiraiya stiffened.

"You showed him?" Tobias nodded. "It was foolish. I know that now." Jiraiya looked away from Tobias.

"I didn't know he was rouge, I really did think the leaf was just doing some fucked up shit." Tobias laughed to himself. Kushina found it funny and so did Minato but they refrained from laughing with him. They didn't want to bother Jiraiya.

Minato became serious again. "Come with me Tobias allow me to examine the seal." Jiraiya nodded. "Allow me to accompany." Jiraiya said with a smile.
