They walked to a separate room it was dark and had no windows. There was a pattern on the floor, he didn't know what it did. The room made him nervous it reminded him of the days he spent in the dark unable to see.
The three that came with, Minato, Kushina and Jiraiya took a couple seconds to adjust to the darkness of the room before continuing what they planned on doing.
Earlier Jiraiya had referred to Tobias like he was a whole different species. Kushina didn't seem to like the way Jiraiya referred to him but Minato didn't seem to notice.
Was he really that different? He didn't think he was. But perhaps being in solitude for so long surrounded by people who are 'your species' would do that to you.
"The seal is complicated, I already know that much." Minato began, it snapped Tobias out of his thoughts.
"Do you know what else it is capable of?" Tobias was silent, he was thinking.
"It can stop me from speaking and using chakra." Minato looked down slightly but nodded.
"If a seal can stop you from using chakra, it is embedded into your chakra nerves and flows. There may be nothing we can do except disable the user from accessing the seal. Or transferring ownership of the seal." Minato said as he examined the seal that encased Tobias's entire body.
Tobias nodded. He doesn't know much about seals. He would never consider himself someone you could go to for help. But he could understand everything just fine.
Tobias really was like a dog wasn't he? Constantly chained to another person.
"Your talking about him like he is a dog." Kushina hit Minato over the head. "Eh? Sorry." Minato apologized. Jiraiya stayed quiet.
Minato engaged in conversation with Jiraiya and Kushina. They talked about the seal and who should it be transferred to. Jiraiya was immediately out of the picture, he traveled to often.
So all that was left was Kushina or Minato. And Kushina said no to Minato. She said that he would experiment with the seal and hurt Tobias in the process.
Tobias wouldn't particularly mind if Minato would have experimented with the seal, but this seal can kill him, he doesn't want someone tampering with it mindlessly.
They tried to keep this conversation out of Tobias's hearing but realization came over Kushina.
When they entered the gate he had heard the two guards from a mile away.
"Shhh." Kushina said in fact louder than they were talking. Minato looked at his wife questionably. Kushina looked over to Tobias.
"I appreciate the fact you try to keep the reality of my situation a secret." Tobias said shrugging.
Kushina sighed and frowned. "He has amazing hearing." She pointed a finger at Tobias.
"We are on the other side of the room and whispering. He can hear us?" Minato asked.
Maybe it was the fact that Tobias was 18, (19?) That they tried to keep this whole thing a secret but he wished they would realize he is not a child.
Kushina went on about his unnatural hearing.
Jiraiya finally looked at Tobias. "Do you know why you have unnatural hearing?" Tobias was silent he had an idea. But not one he wanted to share. "No." Jiraiya nodded.
Kushina looked at him and put her thumb up. "I'll be in charge of your seal, you know!" Minato smiled.
A table was brought into the room and Tobias was instructed to lay on it. They put him to sleep. The process was going to be sore inducing, which means painful. They didn't want him awake. He did eventually allow himself to fall asleep. Brought into the darkness of his dreams.
He was half conscious the entire time. It was painful but he didn't scream. His heart rate was slow, they didn't know he was awake in the first place.
Anesthesia doesn't work apparently. He had grown immune to several different poison's. "I guess it made me immune to several other things in the process."
Finally they announced the process was finished. How long had it been? An hour? Again, he has no concept of time. He heard the Hokage's sigh in relief.
He decided he was done laying down as soon as he was unstrapped from the table. He sat up to the surprise of everyone in the room.
"A-ah I didn't expect you to wake up this soon?" Minato said in surprise. "Well we have done it. We managed to transfer the seal to Kushina." Tobias nodded.
"I was awake this entire time." Minato's face paled. It was kinda funny, the Hokage's face turning white.
"You could have told us?" He didnt know what to do. "I am fine don't worry about it." Tobias tried to reassure the Hokage.
Then Kushina walked into the room. She seemed happy. "Can you talk about your missions now?" Tobias nodded.
"I can." Minato nodded and beckoned Tobias to continue.
"I was on an assassination mission. That priest from the Clan ruins." Kushina's face paled slightly but she nodded. "A lot of people think he doesn't deserve the role as priest." Kushina said sadly.
"They will no doubt notice my absence." Tobias changed the subject slightly. Minato nodded. "You will be protected here." Minato assured.
"We have an empty house about a block away from our own. You can live there." Tobias didn't respond.
"Have you gone on other missions?" Minato asked. He motioned him to follow and he did. His whole body was sore but he wasn't going to complain.
"That was my first. Despite how long we had been there, he had always doubted my loyalty to the compound." Minato was silent.
"He?" Tobias nodded. "I do not know his name nor any others." Minato frowned. "Alright."
He stopped in fort of his office. "Kushina will take you to your home. And show you around." Tobias nodded.
Minato entered his office leaving Kushina and Tobias behind.
Kushina motioned for Tobias to follow and he did.
"You need to go to the Uchiha clan. The Uchiha clan head and elders wish to meet you." Tobias nodded. "Not today of course. They agreed to allow you to rest."
The house that he was shown had furniture already in it and some food.
"I decided to provide for you!" Her laugh was evil. "Technically I am your guardian now!" Tobias raised an eyebrow. "Oh well is suppose she is."
"Thank you." Tobi finally said. He should have said it sooner. Kushina smiled. "Of course!"
Something about being here made him nervous. He was scared for those back home. "Home?"
Tobi hated that's what he referred that place as. But what else would it be? That's all he remembered. It's the only place he truly knows.
And now he is stuck in a completely knew environment. Probably a better environment, but nothing about that makes it any less nerve wracking.
