Chapter 6: Part II

"I was born in Ascent and I basically lived there for all of my life. My father was born in Bind and my mother also lived in Ascent. She was a stay at home mother and my father was a scientist. My father had come to Ascent for work and he met my mother. They had my brother and I. My father ended up passing a little bit after that. We didn't know how and we didn't question it. My mom had thought that the company he worked for had killed him, she said that they wanted credit for what he had discovered. Blah blah, fast forward to a few years later, we live in Ascent, I touch radianite, get kicked out, come back later to find them dead. The end." I took a deep breath. Saying all that was a hassle.
"What company did your father work for?"
"I think he worked for Kingdom at the time? It had just started."
"What was his name?"
"Aslan, Aslan Ahmed. Why?"
"Just curious."
     After a few minutes we all head back to our rooms. Chamber comes with me into my room and lays down on my bed.
"Tired?"
"Just a little."
     I kiss him on the cheek and he puts his arms around me.
"Vincente?"
"Let's just.. stay like this, for a while."
     I don't question him and just hug him. I slowly look up to see him with his eyes open.
"Is something the matter?"
"No, not really."
"Vincente."
"You know how I told you about that new agent a while ago? Well, the mission I went on wasn't a regular one. We went to find her. She escaped but we're so close to finding her. When I entered the warehouse she used her abilities on all of us. Almost like she knew our fears? We know her name code name is Fade. Brimstone said she'd be joining us very soon."
"I don't think it's anything to be worried about, at least not, yet."
"I suppose you're right."
     He sits up to wipe his glasses. He puts them back on and I sit on his lap. I wrap my arms around him and kiss him. He's starting to sound so stressed out these days, maybe by doing this he'll be less stressed? I ruffle his hair and kiss him one more time. I hug him one last time so he doesn't feel cold. We both lay down and go to sleep.

     Aslan Ahmed. What a familiar name. I did a background search on him a little bit ago. A father, husband, and friend to many. He worked for Kingdom in its early years. Killed by the company he was devoted to, interesting. I am more interested in what Zara says he discovered. Could he have discovered radianite? No, it's always been there, he could have been the one who brought light to it. I am sure that's what it is.
     Was Zara born a radiant? Could she have been lying about how she got her abilities? Or maybe she didn't know? I talked to Brimstone about this and he said we'd look into it later. I don't usually tell people things like how Chanber is dating her and stuff but, this is one of the more important things.
