Chapter 6: Part V

[Meeting Between Valorant Agents]
Viper:  "So you're saying that Zara was switched with her copy and nobody noticed or heard anything?"
Cypher: "Someone had been caught in my web, I thought it was just an animal or something since all five of them were already at A."
Brimstone: "So they brought six agents?"
Chamber: "I think so. It's the only option that makes sense."
Viper: "You should all distance yourselves away from the copy. Do not give her any information to report back to Kingdom. All we can do as of now is think of a plan and hope she isn't dead."
Brimstone: "I guess that concludes this meeting. Once we think of a plan, we will inform all of you. Remember what Sabi- I mean Viper said. Goodnight to all of you."

[Chamber/Vincente]
     All I can think about is Zara. She could be dead. I hope they think about a plan soon, this could be really bad.

[Zara/You]
    My eyes start to open slowly and steadily. I try to move and fail miserably. My hands are tied behind my back and I'm sitting on the ground. I look to my left and I see Cypher, Chamber, and Reyna. They're all looking at me. On my right it's the CEO from the party.
"What am I doing here?"
CEO: "Are you the daughter of Aslan Ahmed?"
"Yes." I know I shouldn't be telling strangers anything, but this man hired him. He's the reason my father could come to Ascent and marry my mother. That doesn't mean he isn't a bad guy, though."
CEO: "I want you to work for me. Just like your father."
"N-no."
CEO: "Maybe this will change your mind?" He pulls out a necklace. The same necklace I lost almost a year ago.
"How's you get that? The answer is still, no."
CEO: "My little doggy fetched it for me, and just think about what we could do together! Your copy was hard to create, even I couldn't perfect her abilities."
"No. I will never work for you!"
CEO: "Maybe this will convince you." He played a recording of what sounded like Chamber and Reyna. It said,
"After you, Mademoiselle."
"Thank you." After the first few lines were said the next few started.
"Reyna, there's another young mind to corrupt. Let's see what use it has to us."
"Thank you for telling me, mi amor." The video ended. Had they just been using me? This whole entire time? All of the things I've done with them, every single thing meant nothing?
"I think we will make a great team. My name is Zara."
CEO: " Oh I know. I'm glad you made the right decision. You won't regret it. First things first, you have to make sure nobody recognizes you. Dye your hair. Whatever else you need will be provided."
"Thank you."
                          *A Few Hours Later*
     After a few boxes of hair dye, my hair is dark brown. I also followed a makeup tutorial for the first time. It was really hard, but really worth it. I changed my clothes into what was provided for me to wear. A white scientist coat and just your normal science clothes. I put on the fake glasses and looked in the mirror, "is this who I am now?"
     I head outside to go meet with my new employer.
"I'm ready."
CEO: "Welcome back. You look great. Now I know you don't have enough experience to be a real scientist, but you can be an apprentice for now. You'll work the same job your father did. Lead scientist."
"Okay."
CEO: "Oh and one more thing, that necklace. It's made from radianite. Your father had it made for you. You have your abilities because of your father. Be thankful, you're one of a kind."
"Yes, thank you." A woman in a coat just like mine greets me and leads me to the laboratory. She showed me how to use all the equipment and I got to work.
                                 *Valorant HQ*
Brimstone: "We've located her whereabouts. She's at the Kingdom Laboratory. We can't do anything until the next business party, which won't happen until the 28th of this month."
Viper: "I know where that is. She must be with the lead scientist, Rosa Santiago. She was an expert in her field. She's 27, from Mexico, and a teachers pet."
Sage: "We should start preparing for our mission. We have to save her. All in favor?"
All of them: "Yes."
     For the next two weeks they trained hard. They were almost done setting everything up. The party would be in three days. That meant three more days until Vincente could see Zara again.
 
[Zara/You]
     I lay awake at night thinking of the foolish mistake I made. I was so clueless, I hadn't even realized that they were just using me. They thought I wouldn't be able to handle myself and that I wasn't capable, I'll show them what I'm capable of.
     The next morning I wake up an check my phone. 5:59 AM. I wait for my alarm to go off and start getting ready for the day. I look at the dress I'll be wearing at the business party, to think only a year ago I was living back at home with my mom and brother. After I shower I head into the lab.
"Good morning, Rosa."
"Morning, sleepyhead." I immediately start working with radianite. Every time I touch it the symbol on my hand glows, maybe I could use this to my advantage? I crush up a small piece of radianite and mix it into my drink. Foolish, I know, but maybe if I get more one on one contact it'll help my powers? I drink it and feel nothing. I'll check back on it later tonight, for now I'll just help Rosa.
"Rosa? Do you need help with anything?"
"Actually, yeah. Just hold this for me please." I start holding the vile of blue liquid. I don't question it because I know that I probably won't want to know.
"Rosa, I'm curious. Why'd you join Kingdom? If you don't mind me asking."
"Well.. my parents wanted me to do something with life. Kingdom basically took me in.. heh."
"Oh..okay. Are you going to attend the business party?"
"Yes. You?"
"Yes. Let's stay together, okay?"
"Alright."
                   *Two Days Later: Valorant HQ*
Brimstone: "Remember everybody, we are there to serve the guests. Once we spot her we take her back and leave. Got it?"

[Chamber/Vicente]
     I finished putting on my suit. Today is the day I see her again, we'll be together again. I put extra ammo in my pocket just in case. I look at Gabe and pet his head.
"I'll be back, buddy." I get up and go outside on the jet. It'll take a few hours for us to arrive, we'll be there by 3 PM. There'll be enough time to set up.
