Chapter 9: Part IV

For the next few days I took it easy. I feel bad for what I did to Chamber, even though it was an accident. He looked so sad when I left him that day, but I can't do anything about it. Even if I could, what would I do? From what I know so far, my powers have something to do with time and people. The radianite only made my powers even stronger and durable. My abilities like time manipulation, transferring my mind, and freezing time aren't enough. I need to be better.

I grab a piece of paper and start taking notes. I write down my abilities and put what I know.

Time Manipulation- I can manipulate time- freezing time, stopping time, going back in time for only a few minutes.

Freezing time- I can freeze time but it isn't too helpful, maybe it will be in the near future.

Mind Transfer- I don't use it a lot unless I need to.

The clock on my hand- it doesn't do anything- or at least I don't think it does.

    After an hour of brainstorming, I've come up with a conclusion. I can control time and anything or anyone with it. Time will always be on my side. After getting into deep thought, my phone rings. It's the CEO, once again. I answer the phone to see what he wants.

"Hello?"

"Hello? Zara, are you interested in doing another mission? This one is different. One of our competitors are going to be there. You just have to steal his phone and get rid of him. It'll be at a night club, so you'll have to be disguised. Is it a yes?"

"Only if Vincente can come along. He won't be a distraction- I promise." He agrees and I say my goodbye. Yesss, I'll be able to see him again. I text him asking him if he wants to come."

[Chamber/Vincente]
     I once again, lay on my bed. The only thing different is that I have two cats beside me. I put my arm up and look at the bandage wrapped around my hand. Who would of thought I'd be so desperate to see her again? I take a deep sigh and look at my phone. Still nothing. I sit up and open the door to whoever's knocking, it's Sage and Cypher. They both come in and quickly close the door.
"Yes?"

"Ah, buddy, we know you've been heartbroken about your, 'mademoiselle' leaving. We brought you cookies to cheer you up." Sage hands me a tin and goes to play with the cats.

"I can assure you, I am fine. But thank you for your concern." I set the tin down on my desk and feel my phone vibrating. I check it and see a message from her. I've been waiting for this. I read it and it says, "Come with me to the Fila Night Club. Friday night, 11:45 PM. I'll be waiting there since I have a mission. Bring a jacket too, please." I agree to do it and turn off my phone. I don't care what we're going to do, I just want to see her again.

                      *The Night Of the Mission*
     I put on a short dress covered in diamonds. I put on a red wig and heels. I did my makeup and hair, I can't screw up. I put on black gloves to hide the mark and take my purse. Oscar sends one of his drivers to drop me off at the club and when we get there I see Vincente. I get off and head over to him.
Bouncer: "ID?"

"He's with me, Martin."

Bounced: "Have a nice night." He opens the door for us and I pull Chambers arm inside the club. Flashing lights everywhere, loud music, people making out in the corner. What a sight.

"Zara, what exactly is your mission?"

"I have to find another CEO, take his phone, and finish him."

"Ah, alright. Does that require your disguise?"

"Yep. I'll get him drunk and finish the job." Chamber nods and let's go of my hand. He points at the room in the back where he sees the CEO going. I follow behind the CEO and sit next to him. I'll have to admit, this dude is a total jerk. I just want to finish this job and get back with Chamber.

"Hello, beautiful." I put my hand on his cheek and scoot in closer.

"Hiya, mister. How about we drink a little?"

"Do you know who I am?"

"What does that matter? Let's have fun." I call the waitress and order two wines. I pick up the glass and give it to him. Once the curtains are closed, he starts to drink.

"Having fun, mister?" He nods and pats the seat next to him. I wait for him to finish his drink and sit there. After a while, he's finally drunk enough. I manage to take his phone and slip it inside my pocket. I grab the needle from my pocket and inject into him. I get up and leave before anyone suspects a thing.
I can see Chamber drinking his beverage and looking down. Is he upset? I walk up to him and say we should go. We both go outside and walk for a little.

"Zara, why'd you leave?"

"I thought I told you. Viper told me to leave."

"What exactly did she tell you?"

"She knew what I was planning. Or she thinks she does, she asked me to leave before anything else happens."

"Okay..and what about what happened during your other mission? What was that about? Are you feeling alright?"

"Yes..it's just my abilities. They've been acting up for a little while. I'm fine- I think."

"Do you know why they're acting up?"

"I have a few reasons.."

"Mind explaining?"

"Well, maybe I'm just getting older or stronger. Or maybe it's cause I injected radianite into my body. I'm not sure which one it is but they are both very good reasons."

"You did what?"

"I injected radianite into my body ? That's not the point, anyways,-"

"Zara. Don't you realize how dangerous that is? You could have died. I wouldn't have known because you barely even communicate with me. You've been so distant lately, I don't know anymore. I'm stressing out, worried about you, and here you are just playing with dangerous substances inside a lab. Don't you realize how fucking worried I am?!"
     Vincente has never spoken to me like that before, let alone cussed. He's always so nice and soft spoken. This was a complete shock. I looked him in the eyes and could feel my eyes starting to tear up. He looks back into my eyes and hugs me.

"I didn't mean to-" I hug him back and put my face in his chest.

"Vincente, I know, I know. It's just been hard lately, I've been doing research, trying to fix my abilities, and just trying to manage it all. I miss seeing you on a daily basis, but Viper was nice enough to let me leave unharmed. I want to come back, believe me, I do. I want to be with you and never leave your side."

"Oh, Zara.." he takes off his jacket and puts it on me. He puts his hand on my back and his other one on my chin. He lifts it up a bit and kisses me. After a minute, he wipes the tear that was starting to form in my eye.

"Let's go." He put his arm around me and we walked even further. The driver had been sent to pick us up already, and by the time we got back, they were already there. We got inside the car and it drove us back to where I was staying.
     There we are, at the door of my room. I look around my bag for the key and the phone frkm the mission. I leave the phone in the table in the hallway for Oscar to come and get it. Once I find the key I open the door and we both step inside.
     I take off his sweater and walk up to him. I mess up his hair a bit just to tease him.

"You look good with messy hair, Vince."

"I just didn't have time to do it."
     I take off the super uncomfortable dress and change into something comfier. It's already 2 AM. We had been out for so long, but that didn't stop us from staying awake. We both sat on the sofa and watched a movie. He put his hand on my thigh and started to move it closer and closer.
