Vincente lays his head in my shoulder. I grab his cup and hold it for him.
"I'll be back, let me go return these." He gets up and fixes his glasses. I walk inside the dim store and look for the owner. I spot her at the other side of the counter.
"Thank you. It was good." She nods her head and takes the cups to her sink. I leave and head back to Vincente.
"Let's go." I take off the sweater and put it on him instead, he's already done so much for me. I wrap my arm around his, we start walking the way we came from.
On our way back to the hotel, we encounter a dark alleyway. Vincente said he heard some ruffling in the trash.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?"
"We should just find out what it is. If it's something or someone bad, I'm sure you can take it on, or me, but let's hope it's not me."
"Okay.." I walk up to the bag that was moving. I move it off to the side and see small blue eyes looking at me. It's a cat, a siamese cat. I pick it up with my sleeves and bring it to Vincente.
"Gabe needs a buddy. Can we take it home?"
"No."
"Pleaseee?" I gently tug his sleeve and watch him sigh.
"You know I can't say no to you, yet you use it to your advantage. I guess we dan take it home, just wrap it in my sweater."
"Really? Thank youuu." I get on my tiptoes and give him a kiss on the lips. I wrap the kitten around and we both start walking again.
"He's so cute, what should we name him?"
"I don't know? Gabe #2? Gabriella? How are we going to get past Sage with it?"
"Okay so, it's 8 PM. The others are probably eating in their room, Sage always sits near the door doing whatever she does. Since she knows we're dating, I'll stand behind you and you distract her. There's no way she'll notice."
"I'm not so sure this plan of yours will work. Whatever makes you happy, mademoiselle." I smile and hold his hand.
After 20 minutes of walking, we're at the doorstep. I take a deep breath and let Vincente go in first.
Sage: "Hello, where were you guys?"
"Hello, Sage. We were... eating dinner?"
Sage: "You guys brought enough copper for a dinner?"
"Yes..?"
Sage: "Zara, what are you holding?"
"A sweater?"
Sage: "What's inside the sweater?"
I sigh and decide to let it all out.
"Okay so, we found this cat and basically we're taking it back to HQ because our other cat needs a buddy and I didn't want to leave it and there's no stopping me."
Sage: "Wow, okay. Other cat?"
"Yes, his name is Gabe. I found him a few months ago."
Sage: "Ohh... it's starting to make sense. Does Cypher take care of him? It would make a lot of sense, unless he's just calling himself a cutie."
"Yeah...here. See you later." I put the cat in Sage's arms and grab Vincente's wrist. I lead him upstairs to my room.
Vincente: "Your plan worked well."
"Yes, I know. Anyways, I'm bored."
Vincente: "What's on your mind?"
"I don't know. Let's just lay down, for a few minutes, and then we'll do something."
Vincente: "Alright, but I have to go on the mission tomorrow, so let's not stay up too late." We both lay down on the bed looking at something different. He looks at the light, while I look at him.
Vincente: "No, Zara. I'm not going to seduce you, you're still hurt. I don't want to be rough on you and cause you more pain."
"..how?"
Vincente: "After being with someone, for a certain amount of time, you just know their intentions."
"Okay." He turns his head and looks at me. I blink at him and decide my next move. I sit up and get on top of him.
Vincente: "You know I can just carry you off of me, right?"
"You wouldn't."
Vincente: "As much as I want to hear you moan, you still haven't fully recovered. Maybe after you finish your treatments with Sage, I'll think about it, it'll probably be a yes."
"Vincente, I've never really thought about this, but, what do you like about me?"
Vincente: "Well, a lot. I like your hair, face, body, Italian-ish accent, the way you dress, the way you position your gun, your smile, your personality, basically everything about you. Why?"
"Just wondering."
