"No I told you, when you write it like this, it does not seem grammatically wrong, but it most definitely is. Hence, it is important to rephrase the sentence and move few words here and there, and that's it." Kyle nodded to what Adam just explained. He seemed to have understood what was going on, but his blank expressions told Adam otherwise.
"I shall explain this later." Adam tapped Kyle's shoulder while coming down from the classroom table as he saw Ms. Karen approaching for the session.
Adam Richards. A boy with perfect hair, the perfect height a boy should have, a character that but the most noblest of people to shame and a naughty smirk, on which most of the girls lost their hearts. He was a man who was capable of both envy and admiration at the same time. Adam was the school sweetheart. Every girl had a crush on him, be it junior or senior. He was well known to everyone and was always in the good book with every teacher, and all of this he made to seem flawless!
Apart from looking and being fabulous, Adam was also known for his numerous skills, such as written and spoken English and also music! It was no wonder so many girls vowed him on daily basis, a musician never fails to grab attention.
Though he was pretty well known he literally had 4 friends who he really trusted, liked and could tolerate. Kyle, Daniel, Sam and Everly. These 5 had been together since they were in kindergarten and did not even know how to speak. But the major factor that they stayed together all these years was the pure bond of music that they shared. It was their common interest, their common hobby and the their common stress buster.
The bond was so strong that all of them had the same classes, hung out together in every period break, every summer and every holiday.
As they played their music in the class, entertaining not only themselves but everyone else who sat there, Adam scanned the room filled with faces of admiration except one. As Adam sang on top of his voice, he noticed a girl sitting in the far of corner, immersed in her thick novel, least bothered with what was going on in her surrounding.
Adam's immediate thought to it was, how can someone have such an unbreakable concentration amidst the all the sounds -- It was definitely admirable!
The next thought was of confusion and the chain imagination was then broken by the calculus teacher as all fuss died and Adam saw the girl closing her huge novel and getting ready for the class.
The only subject that Adam really resented was calculus, but he knew he still had to learn it for the future. There was never any pressure from is parents to excel in any of the subjects but he thought of it as his own responsibility to make his parents proud of him by doing as little as getting good grades in the school.
The boredom of the subject coaxed Adam to write a note. Soon it secretly traveled across the room to all his friends and ended up with Everly and back to Adam.
The note said:
Jamming session at my house after school?
Yaaaasssss
Noooopppeee
Maybeeeee
No surprise, there were 5 tick marks against Yaaassss.. and hence the anticipation of it helped Adam to concentrate on calculus and finish the hour with a smile on his face.
Being very serious for their music, everyone had arrived at Adam's place right on time!
"Welcoooommmmeeee...... ummmm. We gotta come up with a band name." Said Adam as he greeted everyone while coming down the stairs.
Everyone giggled and hugged each other. Adam then guided all of them to the music room where all his instruments were neatly set up. It was safe to say that Adam was filthy rich. He had a house that could only be categorized as a mansion. There were almost 10 or so odd rooms excluding the kitchen and the dinning area.
Though Kyle, Daniel, Sam and Everly, all ran in same circle, excuse me their parents ran in the same elite circle, Adam's parents were the one with most of the wealth. Adam's father ran a huge Banking Institution which had investment banking and consulting as well. His father had started this business from his backyard where he lived with his parents and now they were the market leader! Adam was soon to take over the business from his father.
Even though Adam grew up in a house so big, he never took anything for granted, he still remained humble and non-arrogant. He also shows interest in the business and even attended office a few times with his father to get a hang of things.
They had well- dressed servants to serve them snacks and drinks as they entered. Most of the time was spent eating, drinking and giggling rather than playing.
Soon after Adam's Mom, Rita came to greet all of us. "Hello everyone! How are you all doing today?!"
Everyone gave a thumbs up, while Everly ran and hugged Rita.
"Well hello Everly, you have grown to be quite a lady now. How is school going?"
Everly with joy in her voice, replied, "It is going quite well, in fact I am just a tad bit behind your son in all of the grade."
"Well whatever you get I am sure you are doing good for you, and you can beat my son anytime you want, I will be more than happy." Rita replied. And suddenly it was pretty evident where Adam got his humbleness from.
After greeting everyone personally and asking their whereabouts, Rita took her leave from them and headed out. At this point the band thought it would be great to start playing.
Hence everyone took their positions, Sam on the keys, Daniel on the drums, Kyle on a base and Everly and Adam were the vocals and the guitarist of the band. They played random songs for almost 2 whole hours.
As Adam sang with the voice straight from heaven Everly was left transfixed to Adam and his skills. She gave him a deep look and released a sigh.
Everly once again thought to herself - I am definitely in love with this man!
