Chapter 16

"How about 'glitters' as a theme? We will have the hall decorated with vibrant colors and everyone needs to wear a gown with glitters on it?" Anna addressed the meeting of student counsel. The ideas seemed to be well received and later in the meeting 'Glitters' as the theme for the prom was finalized!

As Anna walked out of the classroom, she found Tia and Maheen with their ears to the wall trying to eves drop. 

"What do you think you guys are doing?"

With one swift move, Tia came on one side of Anna and Maheen was on the other, "We just want to know if you all have decided on the theme for prom." Tia spoke in a low and casual tone.

Anna rolled her eyes, as she did not believe her friends, "What if I said we have?" She tried to tease her friends.

"What is it?" Maheen asked in excitement.

"You will know in the meeting I am holding for the volunteers this afternoon, after school. Patience!" and Anna had walked off with her head help high.

"This is not fair, we are your friends!" Tia shouted in the hallway and Anna did not blink another eyelid.

Adam was sitting in the class waiting for the professor to come. He had his head down in the book trying to read ahead of the class. He was so engrossed that he did not notice Everly standing beside him, until she patted on his back.

"Hey." Everly said when she finally had Adam's attention. She was still a bit reluctant but she had decided to take the first step.

Adam stood up as soon as she saw that Everly had approached him, "Hey! How are you?" Adam said as he went in for a hug, "It has been a while since I last saw you."

"Yeah almost a week." Everly said as Adam let her go from his embrace and now stood face to face.

"Adam, what I said the other day, although I still have those feeling towards you, but you being in my life means more to me than anything else. Be it a boyfriend or a friend. So it is clear that you don't have feelings for me, but I just absolutely cannot loose you as a friend. Not after everything we have been through." 

"I agree. I cannot loose you as a friend either." Adam said. "Let's hang out together after school what say?"

"Ummm... I would love to, but I already promised Anna that I would help her for the prom this afternoon." 

"OH! You talk to Anna?"

"Yeah, Anna, Tia and to an extend Maheen as well, we have become friends after Tia started dating Kyle." 

"Oh! That's nice. That's really good." Adam said and stroked his chin contemplating, "Why don't I join you as a volunteer to help out with the prom, that way we can help Anna, and hang out together. How about that? You okay with it?"

Everly could not hide her delight, and said, "Yes, that would be great!"

"So the theme for the prom is..... GLITTER! It is going to be shiny, it is going to be bright and it is going to be awesome!" Anna said as she standing on the table, addressing a hand full of volunteers who had actually showed up. As she began to get down from the table and everybody scattered to do their work, Adam and Everly quietly entered the room. They approached Anna and started on the tasks that she assigned them. Apparently they had to hang some weird looking 'glittery' objects from the top.
