"The test was a bit tricky. Don't you think?" enquired Everly to Adam.

"I don't really think it was." replied Adam.

"Ah well, you are an intelligent man, and I the first dumb brunette!" Said Everly and they both cracked up!

Everly Williams, was a girl everyone wanted to be. She was kind and very sweet. She could have had the status of being the meanest girl in the school because of how rich she was, but she never became one. She had found Adam, Kyle, Daniel and Sam at a very young age and gelled with them very well!

The last of the classes were over and everyone headed out of the school. As usual the slowest ones was the group of Everly. They chatted and chatted about anything and everything. As they chatted, Maheen, Tia and Anna passed them.

Kyle could not help but forget the words he was speaking as he saw Tia pass by, they waved at each other and exchanged a smile. Right when Kyle was deep into Tia's eyes, he was distracted by a gut punch which made him squeal in agony and made Tia blush.

"What was that man?" Kyle aske Daniel who had punched him.

"What was that, man?" Daniel replied as he pointed his finger back and forth between Kyle and Tia.

"Do I see some sparks?" Everly continued teasing Kyle.

After a lot of coaxing, Kyle finally confessed, "Okay okay, yes I like Tia, we speak to each other as well. I just don't have the courage to ask her out yet!"

"That's complete bullshit!" Adam said, "Just go ask her out man, what's the worst that could happen?"

Something about the sternness of way Adam encouraged Kyle, left Everly giddy in her stomach.

Adam pushed Kyle a little further saying, "Go! Now!"

Kyle nodded, took his hand out from his pockets, released a deep sigh and shouted, "TIA!"

Tia turned around and started walking towards him. Maheen and Anna stayed where they stopped. Kyle and Tia exchanged a few words and then Kyle made the bold and a bit dramatic move of kneeling down on a knee and asking Tia to be his girlfriend. When Tia, who was a bit teary eyed said yes, Kyle's group clapped and Maheen and Anna looked at them with heart eyes.

Kyle then took Tia and kissed her and as he was kissing her Everly with her hand on her chest and with a side eye gave a look to Adam, she saw him smiling, but his eyes weren't pointed at Kyle and Tia, it seemed they were pointed at Maheen.

Adam, smiling at Maheen, got Everly home frustrated. She greeted her mother and went straight to her room, laid face down on the pillow and screamed!

She turned back to face the wall.

Everly's room was an art. She had the biggest room in the house, of course, the perks of being a single child to rich parents.  She had decorated it in a way which completely and utterly reflected her dynamic style.  Her walls were filled with murals, and the colors being bright and cheerful! She had a huge walk in closet which held clothes according to her moods. She was deprived of anything, all her whims and fancies were fulfilled by her parents, though she did not have many whims and fancies, probably hence they were always fulfilled. She was adored by everyone in the house. Even the servants loved her. She was a person who valued family and but also did her own thing. Some which her parents did not like, but they were okay with it.

Adam. The only guy she had ever liked since the day they had met. Everly and Adam had a real close bond, they were each others confidant, partner is crime, competition and at the end of it all each others shoulders to cry on. Everly had no idea when the friendship turned into love, at least that was the case for her. She could not comprehend Adam nor his feelings towards her. She was sure that he cared for her, everyone in the group did, but did Adam had a bit more inclination towards her? She was not sure. What she was absolutely sure was her feelings towards him.

Everly's chain of thought was disturbed as her mother knocked on her door.

"Everly, darling. We are ready for dinner." said her mother.

Everly released a long sigh, "Coming MOM!" This is the part she did not particularly enjoy. Why does her mother need to come to room to call her for dinner.

She went down, already frustrated to see her dad there for the first time in a long tome joining them for dinner. Everly took her seat and greeted her father with a cold smile.

Everly and her father did not have the best relationship, for the simple fact that he was absent for most of her life. Everly was a product of a divorce couple and now she had to put up with a step mother who tried too hard. On top of it answer her all the silly questions, about school, food and even boys.

"Everly, how was school today?" Her mother asked.

"It was okay." Replied Everly without any emotion and just concentrating on her food.

"Everly, reply to you mother properly." Her father intervened.

" Why, it is not like she was my real mother.  Anyways I have to go, gotta finish my homework." And with a swift moment Everly left the table and she was grateful that the series of these questions started when she was almost done with her dinner, because she could not leave such delicious food.

Instead of going upstairs, Everly left through the doors, and the only place she could go to was Adam's. Luckily no one was following her to check if she was upset like always.

She went to Adam and they sat in his backyard. Adam was used to Everly walking up to him at odd times, he had been having her over since her father had gotten married to her stepmother.

They sat in silence until Everly pulled out a cigarette.

"Hey! What are you doing?!" Adam took the cigarette and threw it away before Everly could light it up.

"UGGGHHH. STOP!" Everly got from beside Adam, "Everyone just needs to stop. Stop telling me what to do, stop interfering in my affairs, stop asking me stupid questions, stop calling me for dinner, stop starring at other people!" With the last statement Everly pointed at Adam.

"Wait back up, what? What did I do?" Adam spoke in his defense.

Everly let out a sigh, calmed herself down and sat beside Adam. She maintained the suspense for a bit and said, "I saw you today."

"Saw me doing what?" Adam said in a pitch even he did not recognize.

"I saw you looking at Maheen, and it was with the brightest smile I had ever seen on you." Everly continued.

"Is that why you are upset with the world today?!" Chuckled Adam, "Everly, oh my Everly. I have no clue who Maheen is! I was looking at Kyle and Tia and that's that. There is nothing else to it!"

"Are you sure?" Everly confirmed.

"Infinity percent!" Adam reassured.

Little bit after the conversation, Adam dropped Everly home and said goodnight. Everly had a satisfied conclusion to the day, while Adam was left with a heavy heart.
