Matters of the Heart

Chapter 17

"Why does it take so much time for the girls to get here?" Daniel asked Adam, Kyle and Sam. 

Waiting for their prom dates to arrive, Daniel, Adam, Sam and Kyle were standing, in a group outside the school premises. They were standing such that they could see the dark empty parking lot clearly, where the girls were suppose to arrive, any minute. 

In that dark parking lot, they say a car that drove in just when the Daniel had finished his sentence. 

"Oh my word! Here they come." Daniel said.

"Here they come." Adam silently and softly repeated the statement, because he had no idea as to the vision that he would behold when Maheen finally walks towards him. He had made an attempt to ask through some queues or another, but she was adamant as to not give up anything. 

Someone started to get out of the car, the person looked beautiful, but Adam recognized her and she was not who Adam was waiting for. Seeing her struggle with the dress, Sam rushed towards the car to help out Everly. Adam continued to look into the distance longingly waiting for his girl to arrive. 

"Hello everybody. Good evening, you all look dashing!" Everly conjured up as much of cheerfulness as she could as she addressed the boys who were standing there. 

"Thank you. You look lovely too!" Daniel said. 

And Everly did look lovely, she was wearing a black glittery dress, which highlighted her collar bones really well, she was wearing light, soft make up and high heels with her hair in a bun.

"Hey Adam." Everly said as she looked at Adam, who had not looked at her at all and still looked at the gate. 

"Hey Everly, you look nice.." Just as Adam finished his sentence, he saw a light in the distance and a car turning in the gates of the school.

"Here they come!" Kyle said in an excitement no one could match, except for Adam. Adam's heart started to race and his breathe became heavier, and that's how he knew, the one he had been waiting for was here. Maheen was here. 

The car stops and the three man come side by side, waiting for the girls to come to them, solely for the purpose that they would be able to look at their girls, till their hearts were full. 

The girls got out of the car and they walked towards the guys who were standing at a fair distance, Tia chose to wear red, a shiny beautiful red dress which was till knew length with her hair half tied up. Anna chose a purple dress, which was a full length, off shoulder dress, with her hair tied in a pony tail. 

And Maheen, she had dressed completely outside of her comfort zone. She had chosen a green sequence dress which ran all the way up to her ankle with a knee high slit on one side. The dress had balloon sleeves and covered her shoulders, but her neck line was deep, not revealing too much, but just enough to leave someone wanting more. She carried a clutch in her hand and wore black heels. She looked very elegant in her dress. For the first time, did she ever wear a dress which revealed so much of her skin, and for the first time was anyone able to see her hair. The were lush black, long and thick. She had decided to keep them open and curl the ends a bit. 

Adam could not take his eyes of Maheen. He was completely transfixed by an elegant women walking towards him. As they came nearer Adam just wanted to grab Maheen by her waist and claim her as his, but he knew he had to resist, but he just didn't want to. 

"Hi everyone." Tia said as they all joined the group. 

Kyle took Tia and kissed her and whispered about how great she looked. 

'Great, one more thing I want to do and I can't' Adam thought, s he saw Kyle do what he wished to do. He still went close to Maheen and whispered, "You look absolutely, drop dead gorgeous. And it is very hard for me to keep my hands to myself right now."
