Adam took a deep breath and saw as Maheen stormed off from the field and out of sight.

He too walked off the field and drove home.

Maheen without realizing had ran all the way home, and stopped only when she entered her room. She closed the door and immediately went up to the mirror. She looked at herself, and instead of being angry, she buried her head in her hands and chuckled. 'What was I doing?' She said to herself and went on to look at herself. She knew that whatever happened on the field, happened at the spur of the moment, a guy like Adam would never go for a girl like her. And there was this whole ambiguity of Everly. So she quietly held on to the memory of that moment and let go of any expectation. She got out of her wet clothes and into something warm and started with her daily chores, with an unusual smile on her face.

Adam on the other hand, was a bit confused and scared. He was afraid to spoil any kind of relationship, even if there was any, between him and Maheen. He had just started to get to know her and he was afraid, one rash moment could ruin everything.

He reached home drenched and surprisingly was greeted by Everly at the door.

"Hey Adam, why are you all wet?" Everly was confused to see him come so late because she knew the practice was over a while back.

"Ahhh.. long story." Adam tried to avoid it, but Everly was stubborn, "Soo?? Tell me. I have got time."

A slightly annoyed Adam just gave a gist of it all, "Nothing, Maheen and I were racing and the sprinklers went off."

"Why were you and Maheen, racing and what was she doing on the football field?" Everly started to aggressively question to know more.

"Can we let it go? Tell me why are you here?" Adam switched the topic, hoping Everly would move on.

"I am here because your sister needed help in her homework, she knew you were at practice so she did not want to bother you, so she called me." Everly explained her reason for her presence.

"Oh, did everything go okay?" Adam enquired.

"Yeah, everything is okay. I was just about to leave." Everly said as she moved closed to the door, hoping Adam would ask her to stay for a bit, because she did want to know what happened between him and Maheen. "I better go and change." Adam broke their awkward silence, for the first time ever there was an awkward silence between them.

"Yeah of course. Go otherwise you will catch a cold. I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Yeah, see you tomorrow." Adam replied as he walked with Everly towards the door.

"All the best for tomorrow. Bye!" Everly spoke as she left the door behind.

"Thank you, bye, reach safe!" Adam said as he closed the door and went upstairs to change out of the wet closed, with as unusual smile on his face.

On the stands were Sam and Everly, cheering loudly for Daniel, Kyle and Adam.

Tia had forced Maheen and Anna to join them to see the match as Kyle was playing. Maheen in her heart was happy because she could also see Adam play. Tia, Maheen and Anna were late and hence they searched for a place to sit, Sam saw then struggling and invited them to sit with him and Everly.
