A week had pass, since they has both received an unpleasant news of working on debate together. Both had done their own research, but stayed quite until the other made a move of enquiring.

Maheen was a tough nut to crack, and Adam found himself being shy and just could not approach her. He had tried many times, but was always unsuccessful in doing so.

Adam had surely started seeing in a more different light. He always knew where she was if she was in his line of sight, and he always found her with a big book reading in some corner. Every time he saw her, he was always left in an awe and often found himself adjusting to just get one look of her.

The period bell rang and it was time for their English class, he was excited to see Maheen, but still kept telling himself, this is not how he is supposed to feel about her. When he entered the class, his eyes automatically searched for Maheen, but he could not find her. He took his seat behind Everly and they started chatting.

Maheen saw Adam from afar chatting with Everly. She took a few minutes to approach them she needed time to absorb the situation that she always saw Adam in. She released a bit of a sigh, and with is releasing all resentment she had, as she often thought what it would be like to be this close to Adam, but she will never get to experience that.

She gathered herself together and with a stern look approached Adam, and gave him few sheets of paper, "Her is the research I have done, I have formulated all the points and all the parts are divided, you can just go through them and show up at the debate."

Adam took a moment as to what was happening with him. Before he could protest to what just happened, Maheen had already started walking towards her seat.

"Woah, woah, hey Maheen." Adam held Maheen from her elbow and with an extra sternness and a tinge of anger said, "You cannot spur this on me like that. The professor gave both of us to do this, and we are going to do this together. It's not a one man army. Its a team. As much as you dread this, it's no picnic for me, but we still need to do this together. So I will keep this research and we will discuss more about this."

Maheen stood there as he said his part and realized that he was still holding her by her elbow. She yanked it out of her with a angry gesture. She took couple of seconds to collect herself, and replied with a calm voice, " Fine, it is a team assignment we will do it as a team. But don't you dare, touch me ever again. Do you understand."

Adam was still irritated so he just quietly turned around and took his seat.

"What was that, Adam? I have never seen you react to something so simple like that." Everly said as she watched the whole incident from afar.

"She just gets on my last nerves. I don't know why I become like that in front of her." Adam banged his head on the desk as he said those words to Everly.

"It's okay, just for a few more weeks and you will not have to deal with her again." Everly ran her fingers through Adam's head. A little smile on her face because she did not have to worry about Maheen and Adam anymore.

During the class, Adam and Maheen both had the chance to calm down. Their sternness on their faces disappeared.

The bell rang and Adam immediately asked Everly, "Did it look really bad? The way I spoke to her?"

"Yes, Adam it kinda did." Everly though did not like Maheen, she could not approve of the behavior of Adam.

"Ugghh, I'll have to apologize, don't I?"

Everly shrugged her shoulders and said, "I am afraid so."

Adam got on his feet and ran towards Maheen, keeping in mind not to touch her this time. Maheen's eyes seemed to automatically soften Adam, and he spoke in a low tone "Hey, Maheen, listen. I am sorry for how I behaved back there. But the debate, it was given to us, us! Not you alone. We are supposed to be team not individual players. Whatever we do we have to do it together. We do it together and win this thing, because I really want. Okay?"

Maheen took a deep stare into Adam's eyes. She loosened her tight grip of self-defense and nodded her head in approval. "Yes, let's get this over with, as cordially as possible."

They walked in opposite directions. Adam wondered about Maheen, her eyes, they were so soft and yet beautifully powerful. She had an ocean of emotions in them and yet a certain calmness.

Maheen joined her friends and relayed the whole incident. They did not attend the class as they craved to have a Subway! Imagine, a subway, as if lunch was not enough for them.

"That ass did what!?!" Tia reacted. "You know I can beat him whenever you want right, you just have to say the words."

"No, it's fine. He did apologize for it and that's okay. I just have to work with him for a certain b]period of time. I can do it. Hopefully." Maheen reassured her friends.

"Maheen, you are going soft on this boy!" Anna said.

"No I am not, it's one thing and I would really like to get it over with it, in the best way possible." Maheen spoke in her defense.

"Just don't let it end in a relationship. These super rich guys aren't to be trusted." Anna gave a word of caution.

"Hey! I am dating one!" Tia shouted.

"Well it's you, you can handle it, and Kyle is not as rich as Adam." Anna explained her position.

"Well yeah, I can handle him in anyway I want." Tia winked after saying a statement which took a while to set with both Anna and Maheen.

As Anna and Tia continued their chatter while they walked towards their last class for the day, Maheen could not seem to get Adam out of her head. Can he really be as shallow and a typical rich boy as Anna said? Maheen did not seem to believe it. Even though he had behaved in a worst way possible, he still had the courage to come a apologize to her, didn't that make him sort of a person who could be good in his core. And also, Maheen hardly saw him behaving like other jock idiots.

Maheen for the first time found herself completely consumed by the thoughts of Adam, even in the class! A pat on her back, got her back to the class. It was note passed to her.

Before reading it, she looked around from whom can it be from. And she immediately saw Adam indicating her to read it.

She opened the note, and the words 'Can I have your mobile number?' written inside the note.
